2/10 Poor

Scary place to stay

I didn’t feel safe at the hotel due to the location, lack of simple security ((like any lock on the door that only I could lock) and no at site personnel.
2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Property is under construction but it wasn't noisy or disruptive to my stay. Mobile check-in was convenient and efficient. Room was tidy and recently remodeled - you can tell they're putting effort into updates. Clean, comfortable, and good value despite the work-in-progress exterior.

I felt comfortable

It was cleaner than I expected which was great. Only problem I have is the price for what you get. It seems newly updated but nothing crazy it’s very simple. I’m not sure if it’s because of the season but the price for basically just two beds and a bathroom was way too much

Basic room

Worked out for a place to crash. Confusing check in, no office, met woman in car. Needed a cell phone which I don't own, but we worked it out. Room was comfortable, but bring amenities, no washcloths nor bath mat. Still seems to be a work in progress. Bed was very comfortable and room temperature easy to control.

2/10 Poor

We didn’t end up actually staying here..we pulled into alley (doors face alley) and it looked really run down, and a bit unsafe. No lobby to check in..attached to a motel with boarded up windows etc. we scrambled to find another place and ended up driving back to pa after the concert.

Was good for a nights stay

2/10 Poor

I didn’t stay here… the building was boarded up and the office was closed . I called a number to cancel when I saw the remains of the place and was told administer was not available to cancel. I can’t believe Expedia allowed this scam to happen!!

2/10 Poor

The power was out when we arrived. The staff was very nice in explaining when she greeted us. Updated us an told us that power company would be working on it but its possible it could be out until midnight. Very polite about it. Gave us the option we could wait it out and she wouls try to get the room for free for us. Or if we choose to go to another hotel they will refund us the money for the room. The area looks abandoned and the room we had rented was renovated nicely except the bathroom shower. Barley room for someone to stand in.

Once the construction is completed the Inn will be a nice place. The temporary accommodation was nice for my son and myself.

We made a stop in Monticello Thursday night while traveling, and we decide to go in this motel, end I was in room 30, and I really enjoyed it, was really nice end spacious, big bright window, and a nice size sofa, and new renovated, will definitely come again, highly recommended.

room was clean & comfortable. room was ice box wen we got here, but heater warmed it up. nice table & chairs & nice big refrigerator & hanging up things rack. toilet paper holder fell off wall first time in use. latch doesnt work on inner door. faucet on bathroom sink was loose but we hand tightened it. no signage on front of building indicating Upstate Inn as there was a decrepit building first on Jones street & we had to ask an attendant for directions. it would be nice to have a coffee maker & coffee & creamer in room instead of a utility sink. but overall the room was adequate for 2 weary travelers. the 2 beds were comfy.

MR WILLIAM COLLIGNON, 1-night trip

We were attending a concert at Bethel Woods that night. We would have liked to a stay at a chain branded hotel. However, choices were very limited. So , I reviewed the previous comments about this hotel. Based on the reviews we stayed here. The abandoned hotel in front of this hotel was a little disturbing. However, this was noted in the previous reviews. Also the County jail being across the street was noted in previous reviews. The outside of this hotel was not great either. However, it was clean and with out debris in the front. They were renovating the lobby. So, we checked in online. After we checked in a hotel employee did call to make sure everything was okay. In conclusion, the hotel did serve our overnight needs. Also, some of the other guest were going to the concert as well. If you are in a pinch, this hotel was clean and will serve you short-stay needs.

Overpriced

The outside of the main hotel was shocking! It's undergoing renovations but it looks like a rundown trap house and very sketchy but the room itself was recently renovated and wasn't bad. You pull up to the door of your room - our room was in the back of the building and the back lot was junky and scary. The outside door of our room had a code to get in and opens to a tiny hall with another door that opens to the room. We were thrown off a little bit because we couldn't figure out why the inside door opening into the room had the doorknob on backwards so that the keyless knob lock was on the outside of the door in the hall ??? - Like if there were two guests in the room, one of them could lock the other in the room because there was no way to open that door from the inside if it was locked! That was a little creepy (think S-Trafficking situation). I was woken up at 4:30am by someone banging on door/window. I have no idea if it was our door or the next room. That was very scary! Other Complaints: The shower pan and bottom of shower curtain were dirty, there was no body soap if we did want to use the shower, and the "Welcome" message said, "Please enjoy complimentary treats on us" - There was nothing but an empty bowl on the table turned upside down. - We laughed about that one. With all of that said, we would not stay there again.

There’s no people or front desk or check-in. It is dilapidated looking from the outside.

When i pulled up i thought we had been ripped off. The lady was great. A banket would have been nice. I would stay there again.

Quite an experience. Newly renovated so I give it good marks for cleanliness. The location and fact it is a Motel next to boarded up buildings was unexpected. So, I wouldn’t bring the kids but if you need a place to sleep after a concert and know what to expect, it is okay.
Paul, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Not a great neighborhood
George, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very clean, new amenities, with no frills. Check-in was easy (unless you’re room 10). Woman who helped us check in was incredibly kind and helpful. Noisy due to fellow concert goers partying after; no fault to the motel itself. Outer door has to slam to close so that’d be my only suggestion for improvement.
