Grand Hotel "Château de Sully" - Piscine et Spa
10/10 Excellent
"It was a wonderful stay in a French chateau in the countryside. We rented a car so there was no issue with transportation but I’m not sure how you would get around if you didn’t have one. Our room was on the top floor but they helped carry the suitcases up as there was no elevator. I was worried about not having air conditioning but there was a fan in the room and when the windows were open it had a nice cross breeze so it wasn’t an issue. The gardens were amazing and well kept. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant as well. The pool and hot tubs were ok. The sauna was not working. I would have liked to have known the history of the Chateau but I couldn’t find anything (like a brochure or even on the Internet) that could elaborate on it. I really did love our stay there. I loved our cozy little room. The bathroom was a good size and every window had a stunning view. "
"Overall this hotel was fabulous! We used it as a base to explore WW2 sites and was very easy to get around the Normandy coast. Large, comfortable rooms with top notch amenities. Hotel staff was super friendly, engaging and helpful. The restaurant was excellent with a varied range of food options and reasonably priced for the great quality. WiFi was excellent!"
"Literally just back from a 2 night stay here and stayed in a family duplex since was for 4 adults which are on a separate block to the main house.
Was a very nice stay overall, big spacious room with an additional upstairs double bed and bathroom, although just the one toilet for both floors.
Lovely quiet grounds to sit in, fairly easy 20 minute walk into the middle of Bayeux and breakfast plentiful buffet style thing.
I have an EV so perfect for me, arrived with about 40% battery and filled up for about £27 on the 22kw charger so happy days!
Staff friendly so honestly no complaints from us.
I would say breakfast is too expensive at €17 per person per night is my only observation."
"A lovely boutique style hotel within a short walk of all the sights Bayeux has to offer. Our room was clean and comfortable, with views of the cathedral. Aircon was excellent. Shower a bit tight but not a problem. The staff were superb, friendly, helpful and welcoming. Special thanks to Johnny and Mathieu for their help with the new, simple (!!!???) toll free motorway charges. Chaotic!!! Mathieu sent us to his Tabac ami who sorted our problem. Brits beware!! All's well that end well. "
"The staff were wonderful, very attentive and friendly.
We were in a stand alone house operated by the hotel. The only issue we believe exists, is the need for additional seating in the common area. Such as a large sofa.
The location is a few minute walk to shops, restaurants, and the tapestry. A great home base for Normandy battle sights.
