We were unaware of this history behind The Willows when we booked. The property is well maintained, the rooms were spotless, the bed very comfortable and the staff amazing. It is nestled at the end of the street alongside the mountains. It is a quiet retreat for couples or honeymooners and we would most certainly recommend and return without hesitation.
What I'd improve?: Our corner room was situated near the cleaning staff's washer/dryer, so their conversations were heard quite clearly in our room. There was no safe in our room. The ironing board was a mini table-top board, but no real table to place it on - I used the credenza underneath the TV which proved a bit tricky. The showerhead is a very large rain showerhead on the 9ft ceiling, so if you're looking to shower and not get your hair wet - it'll be tricky.
While we understood this property to be adults only, there was a couple with a young child which proved to be a distraction - by which I mean that their room was directly on top of ours, so we heard running, stomping, jumping, etc.
