The place is beautiful. We never had breakfast there. The beds are ok, not too bad but not the greatest. The only issue I had was that my room was directly Over the bar, which was not disclosed until after the booking was made. First night was fine, but Saturday night, from people smoking right below our windows, to screaming, music and partying until almost 4am, it made for a terrible drive back home today, and a grumpy kid, because we hardly slept. Other than that, it was a nice affordable space!

Very easy to get and return keys. I had a hard time at first getting back to parking garage to get something out of the car, but the service number (Chelsea) responded very quickly and was very helpful. Only talked via text but the staff was very pleasant and patient. Loved the location. Will stay there again next time I need to stay in Alymer

I booked The British Hotel through Hotels.com, which advertised it as a hotel. In reality, it operates more like an Airbnb-style rental, with no front desk, no on-site staff, and very limited amenities. The entrance is confusing and initially led me to the bar in the same building. Parking instructions were unclear (left vs. right, spaces “1–16”), requiring multiple calls to the owner for clarification. The route from parking to the room is long and maze-like, with only short stairs — no elevator — making it very difficult to carry luggage, especially in winter. The room is spacious but bare. There are no standard hotel amenities, towels are limited, and bedding was dirty with hairs and stains. Although listed as non-smoking, strong cigarette and weed smells came from neighbouring rooms. Noise from the bar was minimal during weekdays, but on one night, music and floor vibrations lasted about an hour. The most frustrating issue was the parking exit system. The card reader and payment machine did not work properly, there was no intercom, and I had to go back and forth for 15 minutes, which almost caused me to miss a meeting. Other guests experienced the same issue. Overall, the stay requires a lot of preparation and patience. It’s fine for those traveling light and expecting a self-managed rental experience, but not convenient for travellers seeking typical hotel services.

The bathroom smelled terrible like sewers, carpet had a moldy stench and the shower..let's just say the photos did not make it seem like my coworker could watch me shower!
