Very basic hotel, check in was very limited with no info on hotel dining or other facilities. Not shown to the room and found no hand soap in bathroom. There was shower gel and shampoo. The room overlooked outside drinking and smoking area and could smell smoke if window open. All furniture was old and some pieces had been mended. Floor boards loose in some places. Admittedly the building is old and has character, but TLC required.

Pleasant, clean and good value

I quickly felt at home after kind help with parking and efficient system of registering at reception. Was very pleased with the room - bright, airy and clean with fresh shower room with window, good supply of soft clean, white towels and bath lotions. Surprisingly comfortable wide single bed with good duvet and pillows in crisp white linen. Simple accommodation just right for my needs at a very reasonable price.

Clean and comfortable.

Clean and comfortable, and just what I needed for an overnight stay. One drawback, due to exceptionally hot weather, is that as my room overlooked the pub's outdoor seating area, opening the window meant cigarette smoke and cooking fumes came in. So I decided to put up with the heat and open the window after closing time, which that Saturday night was around 12.30. Also noisy from conversations so would not suit anyone wanting an early night.
