Nice new option in downtown Buffalo.

Friendly and helpful staff in an ideal location. It's a guest house, which is different than a hotel, but by those standards it was a great place.

Unique stay

Very close to downtown. Nothing too fancy but very clean and unique! Easy check in and check out! You do need to climb stairs to get to the rooms. Hostess was very friendly and helpful!

So, this is really more of a "bed and breakfast" than a hotel. It's clean, it's nice, it's in a really great neighborhood, and Wes (the host) is a super dude, we actually played yhatzee together one night. Highly recommend.

Nice B&B

Very interesting building. Nice job of renovating. The owner greeted us and gave us a tour of the house and a brief history. Very nice accommodations. Breakfast was adequate, but not a highlight of the stay.

We loved our stay! So cozy, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. So clean and lovely. That bed was one of the most comfortable anywhere I’ve stayed. Walkable to cool restaurants and bars. The beautiful young lady at the front desk even helped with our bags. Unfortunately I left my medicine and the man made sure those meds were sent to our next stop! I would never stay anywhere else in Buffalo.

Great value, friendly atmosphere in downtown

If you're looking for basic accommodations in a location central to downtown and the bar scene in Allentown, for great value, try the Buffalo Guesthouse. Wesley, the owner, greeted me and showed me my room and the shared showers and hot tub. The Sunday breakfast was exactly what I wanted. I stayed in a single, which was adequate, but Wesley showed me the larger rooms as I was leaving, and I will take one of those on my next trip home.

A Comfy and Friendly Home Away From Home

Buffalo Guesthouse was a perfect place for me as a solo woman. I needed a 'home' away from home for a night and this was it, although on first glance i was a tiny bit doubtful. I had neglected to follow all the directions so I didn't realize that my entry code was in my texts which I hadn't checked so be sure to check for that before you arrive. The hotel itself isn't fancy, but the care to the details of hospitality is first class. The staff is gracious and caring. I will definitely return when I need a 'home' for a night or two in Buffalo.

Great stay

I'm glad I went here. I arrived at the bus station and took the 8 bus and walked. The employees were friendly. It opened three months ago. It's like 23000 sq ft and a lot of stairs since I was on the 3rd floor. It came w breakfast. My mattress was comfy and they gave me a robe. I would go back, but with less luggage since the stairs are hard w luggage. It was $3 to use washer and dryer.

Suggestions

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Guesthouse. The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable, however, I would like to make a couple of suggestions. 1.) I was confused on how to operate the air conditioner properly so my first night was uncomfortable (I eventually figured it out), 2.) I suggest moving the location of the soap dispenser in Room 200 - because the sink is so small I had difficulty brushing my teeth and spitting into the sink, 3.) please add more hooks to the rooms and the showers - hooks are good.

The worst guesthouse I've ever stayed in

A terrible experience overall, probably the worst guesthouse I've ever stayed in. What went wrong? No one at check in. Waited. Then someone showed up. Then sheer chaos. Room not ready. At nearly 6pm? Then I was downgraded into a room that was also dirty. It's always gross to find other people's hair everywhere. The handles of the narrow staircase were loose and a total hazard. No one there in the morning. I tried to call many times to get a voicemail to no reply. I messaged through Hotels.com and no reply. A terrible operation. Aside from the good AC, the place just sucked.

Mixed feelings

Pros: Very clean with comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Fun swim spa which they were nice and let us use after it closed since we didn't get in until late. Cons: No one was there when we tried to check in and the phone numbers just rang in the building where no one was. Tried for 20 mins then was trying to find somewhere else to stay when someone wandered around from the back and let us in. Turned out their software hadn't alerted them to our reservation so it was a mistake but I feel they should have a number that goes to someone's cell phone just in case. Also, it wasn't totally clear that the shower was down the hall and shared. Not a fan of that. Was it the worst place to stay? No. Would I choose it again? Also no.
