I booked my room online and went to check in 15 minutes later. When I got to the lobby, there was a line of 7 people. It took the clerk 20 minutes to check 1 person in. After waiting 30 minutes for the 1st two in line to get checked in, I heard the clerk tell someone that if they booked online and prepaid, they needed to call the third party because those reservations are not coming thru. Hearing this after 12 hours of driving was unsettling so I inquired if I should call my third party and was told I would have to wait until my turn to know if my reservation went thru, so I waited another 20 minutes until my turn in line, to be told there was no reservation. The clerk told me to have a seat, so she could check in all the others. Again, I have been on the road for 12 hours at this point. As the next man in line walked up she asked if he prepaid online and he said no. The clerk proceeds to say, loud enough for me to hear, "that's why you should never prepay online!" After hearing this and waiting almost an hour, I called Hotels.com who were able to put me in another hotel. Do not book this hotel!

Very comfortable rooms..only thing negative was there were no vending or soda machines or guest laundry even though it says there is. Also if you get a room in the back be prepared to walk all the way around everytime you want to go anywhere because all of the exit gates c are locked or there isnt any. But cofortable bed great spacious room.

We stayed one night. The bed was very comfortable. Otherwise, its an older hotel that's showing some of its age, although the owners appear to be trying to keep up on maintenance and such. Our bathroom door wouldn't shut all the way, as if the door was swollen. Hallways smelled just the faintest bit musty. The pool looked amazing, very big, but was too cold yet get in. Large gated area for parking near the rooms all around the back of the hotel. Seems perhaps there was, at one point, a need for serious fences for security. Area looked industrial, but not seedy at all. Several nice places to eat nearby.

The maid did a good job on the room, but rest of the hotel was awful. The cat pee (or human urine) in our hallway was overpowerfully strong. The fridge and dome lights n our room was broken. We also paid for a third person but did not have an additional person staying with us. The hotel would not return phone calls to process this refund I was promised by the manager. To boot, they didn't even have towels or toiletries set up for 3 people. I would not stay at this hotel ever again!

There was some kind of event in town and the rate on my Marriott room jumped to almost $1000 a night. I needed one more night so I checked Hotels.com and found Hiltop. The rates were great. I read that the area is kind of sketchy and I found that to be true, but parking is inside the wrought iron perimeter gate so that offered some peace of mind. The lobby is nice and the staff was helpful. Parking was tight but manageable. My room was clean but there was a slightly musty smell. Most importantly (and surprisingly), I had a quiet night. Not sure I would ever stay here again, but it was a decent option in a pinch.

The only downfall of this hotel is that it's a very big hotel with a lot of room. It's like a maze to get to your room. I got lost a couple of times but overall, it's a great place to stay and very affordable.
