The actual hotel was clean and staff were great. However the restaurant experience was very bad. We were told half the meals on the menu were not available, plus the draught beer was also not available.
I ordered fish and chips, which when arrived the fish was hard as a rock and definitely not fresh. They got me another one but that too wasn’t very good either. My nephews burger had a bad taste to it and he couldn’t eat it but didn’t want anything else to eat from there. The waitress seamed to have all the excuses ready as though this was a regular occurrence. She definitely wasn’t listening to me and said this is the first complaint she has had. However, another guest sat next to us had just sent his steak back as he said it was like leather. I mentioned this to her and she just shrugged it off.
In the end she didn’t charge us for the bad food, which was the least she could do.
Again, the hotel was great but I would advise anyone visiting to eat elsewhere until they address the restaurant issue they are having.
This whole experience was definitely not what I was expecting from such an established hotel chain.
