Extremely disappointing – reservation error, unhelpful staff, and poor service
We were looking forward to our stay at RIU Vistamar, but our experience was ruined due to a serious booking error and a complete lack of assistance from the hotel staff. Upon arrival, we discovered that our children had been incorrectly registered as infants — which they clearly are not. This should have been a simple fix, but instead of helping us, the hotel staff charged us an additional 40% and refused to correct the mistake.
Worst of all, they withheld our passports until we paid the extra charge. This felt like blackmail and is completely unacceptable. The staff were arrogant, inflexible, and not service-minded at all. We were simply told to contact Hotels.com, while the hotel refused to take any responsibility or offer any support.
We travel frequently and have never encountered anything like this. RIU Vistamar should seriously reconsider their approach to customer service and staff attitude. We will definitely not return.
