Cleanliness

Hotel very old, which we knew. But carpets in hallways very stained. Hotel smelled musty, maybe even moldy. Lack of security and hard to find someone at the front desk.

Breaky was great. One employee scowled at me when I entered the property, she had parked in the middle of the driveway and didn't appreciate that I needed half the driveway to enter. All other staff, including reception were so friendly so I don't think scowling lady fits in. Older rooms, a bit pricey for what the rooms are, clean. For a better price I would go back.

DO NOT STAY HERE!

Check in was great. We were late but they are 24 hours check-in. We were very happy with the room itself. It all went to crap in the morning. Breakfast is advertised until 10pm. We showed up at 8:46 and there was 3 pieces of bread, no eggs, no sausage, no juice, no clean bowls to eat cereal, and the list goes on. Sat there for 30 mins. All they did was refill the coffee. Had 2 families come in and have nothing to eat. One man took a dirty bowl out of the bin and hand washed it without soap as there was none and get some cereal. We all tried to complain to front desk but nobody was there. Multiple people tried over 40 mins. We packed up and left. Then realized we forgot the birthday cake in the fridge in our room. The whole reason we were there in the first place. A special occasion. We came back 15 mins after we checked out. Nobody at front desk so went up to the room and the cleaning woman LIED to my partners face that there was no cake in the fridge 15 mins after we had left the room. She tried showing him the garbage. Like he was stupid. Never again.

Not worth the price.

They ran out of breakfast food before the end of the breakfast time. They didn’t have any clean bowls left for the only thing left to eat which was cereal. There is no decaf coffee at breakfast but they had 3 cerafs of regular coffee, maybe 1 could be decaf. The in room kitchen was poorly stocked no frying pan, no forks. However there was a cupboard with 5 dog toys in the kitchen? The place definitely charges way too much for what they offer. The perk of the hotel is that there is a beach across the road. The person at the front desk in the evening saw my 2 young adult sons, asked if they were even guest. She quickly tried to pretend it didn’t happen when she saw my husband and I a few seconds later.

Not fit for a family

Two of the three rooms we booked were not ready and were still being cleaned. We were told it may be an hour to two hours wait. Finally at 5:30 we were all given our rooms. Though there were signs everywhere about this being a non smoking hotel, cigarette and marijuana smoke was wafting into our rooms, so we had to keep our sliding doors closed. Our friends said that they had a terrible night due to a lot of noise coming from the adjacent rooms. At one point they thought about calling 911. We later found out that some of the rooms may be SROs and people who cannot be discharged from the hospital onto the streets are sent here. We are not sure exactly sure what the arrangements are, but feel that either this should be a hotel for paying guests or it should be turned into an SRO shelter but the two don’t go together.

Unfortunately the rooms are dated, dingy and musty. There was a hole in the wall in our room stuffed with a towel (I guess to fill it). The overall feeling of this hotel was rundown and the staff were far from professional - from the man and woman at the front desk seemingly arguing to the breakfast staff telling us inappropriate stories about other guests.

Unfortunately, we won’t be going back..

The good part was they had an elevator. Only one person at check-in time, whom was also doing laundry and answering the phone. Laundry was downstairs from the main entrance. We were told they were having staffing issues at the property. The rooms were large but needed updating, no view of the ocean from our room. We looked at a couple other room types that may have an ocean view, but they smelt musty and we decided to keep the one we had. Breakfast was okay. The lady that checked us in was super friendly but also run off her feet.. unfortunately we won’t be going back to this property.
