Bad stay at Howard Johnsons

Accidentally dropped TV remote behind dresser, moved dresser and found an empty juice bottle and an accumulation of trash behind dresser. Requested a mobility challenged room,reservation confirmed, was not any safety rails to be seen. AI checking was confusing for elderly generation. Again was assured it was a handicap room. Entrance to office was a box and up step which was difficult to me. I am walking with a walker. Room was noisy from traffic and drag races on Division St.. I question the safety of the location although we did not have any problems. Small concern was the light switch was outside of bathroom. They are handy to the North side of Spokane.

Better than expected. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Room had a mini fridge and microwave. The location was great. It was near convenient stores and many restaurants. Will most likely book here in the future.

Howard Johnson in Spokane Washington sucks

I didn't get to stay there we were tired and we have a service dog and nowhere on their site did it say we couldn't bring our service dog and I booked the room and we just wanted to go to bed and he sat there arguing with me saying we couldn't bring our service dog in there and I said well you could have mentioned that on the website but nowhere does it say anything about it and I told him he's being very discriminating. So the Howard Johnson there on division in Spokane Washington I would give a negative five too but hotels.com was great even though it was non-refundable they went ahead and got us a room and at a really nice place I'm trying to think of what it was called but anyways it was a really beautiful place and it was more money than what the Howard Johnson's was and they paid the difference because Howard Johnson then the person there then told hotels.com that I he didn't tell me I couldn't have a service dog there and lied to her so I don't know what was going on there but be very careful because it when you buy a non-refundable they just take the money and run I guess not hotels.com but Howard Johnson

Check in was not user friendly

Took a long time to check in and several people were waiting even longer than me to try and check in. Not user friendly at all. Had to use a screen with a guy working 2,000 miles away. Not recommended if you need a quick check-in.

Surprising

When I booked this, I didn't get the impression that it was a motel, but it is, a quite nice little motel. Contactless check-in thru a video kiosk. Nice roomy room, comfortable beds, clean & quiet place, right off Division St.. Yummy Texas Roadhouse is a couple blocks away.

Nobody is there at the front to check you In.

Im very disappointed in the check in process as i sat in front waiting for a key to get in my room for over an hour, until someone showed up. Their was like 4 guest waiting behind me as well and a couple of men in front of me telling me that the service is terrible. I am more upset because we missed part of my daughters basketball game, waiting to check in. We were not comped nothing for the lack of customer service. What a waste of time.

Howard Johnson?

Tina the manager is great! But when we arrived at 4:30 we had to check in with a remote person in India. Could not understand him and when I came back to question a charge, the previous person contract was still on the screen with her name and address and how much she paid. When we hot in the room the bathroom window was ppen, very cold! The area was old and looked unsafe to my wife. The room wad clean and comfortable abd there was not any negative event's. We had higher expectations for a Howard Johnson and according to the pricd we paid. We talked to the manager in the morning and she, Tina is very nice, and of course there is nothing to be done to change thd rough area yhe motel is in. I just question why Hotels.com would list this location for such a high price.

The room was fine, and the location was good. My biggest issue was breakfast, as another review indicated that there was a good breakfast with a cook and decent selection. This is a lie; breakfast is packaged pastries and juice handed to you in a paper bag. There should be a note on the previous review to indicate that it’s misleading. My only other issue was the check in kiosk; I recognize that it’s fundamentally the same as having someone present in person but it still viscerally made me cranky. I know it’s unreasonable but I just don’t like taking at a screen. If it was a self-service kiosk where you interact with the computer screen without the video feed it would be better. For the price I’d probably stay again but next time I’ll know what to expect for breakfast. Also, the coffee wasn’t hot, which didn’t help.

When we arrived, we were not pleasantly surprised to find a Zoom-type kiosk (remote, and heavily accented male representative) checking us in to our room. This became a problem, when we needed assistance by what Kioskman called a "physical person". The outside temperature had been well below freezing, day and night, for several consecutive days, the parking lot and sidewalks were under a 4" blanket of snow, (an obvious safety hazard) and the room temperature was set at 62 degrees f., which neither my wife nor I could see a way to adjust. We had arrived about 45 minutes after the 3:00 o'clock check in time, it was already dark and cold, and we needed a warm room in which to shower, change our clothes, and drive to the restaurant, where we had reserved a table. When I called the front desk, to have the temperature remotely adjusted, Kioskman said he was not authorized to do anything but contact the local manager for assistance. We hung up, after nearly a half hour, he called back to say a "physical person" would arrive about eight o'clock to provide assistance. Needless to say, we went to our dinner appointment dirty, disheveled, and disgruntled.

Will not stay here again

First of all when I arrived there was nobody at the front desk, I was greeted by a machine that had a person on the other side of the world checking me in, which took about 45 minutes to do, after I finally got everything situated I went up to my room to take a hot shower but there was no hot water I ran it for a few minutes to see if it would warm up but it never did so I had to skip the shower and remain filthy, I left for work, and had to shower somewhere else, when I got back on Saturday morning to check out not only was my door open But somebody snacks and stuff were in my room, I hadn't even checked out yet and somebody's stuff was in my room, I don't know what kind of business they're running there but if somebody has a hotel room until that person checks out nobody is to be in that room, it's a good day I took my valuables with me or they might have got stolen.
