I booked Hotel BLU based on glowing reviews, but my experience was incredibly disappointing. We arrived late and received a lukewarm welcome. Our first room was next to loud mechanical equipment—possibly HVAC—which created constant humming and buzzing. As a light sleeper, this was unmanageable.
The front desk moved us to a loft room, which I appreciated, but things quickly went downhill. The room was warm and stale, and the thermostat never dropped below 72°F, hovering closer to 75 for our entire stay. We had to request fans—something I’d expect from a budget motel, not a supposedly upscale hotel. The space was also dark and poorly lit despite the sunny season.
The worst part though was the mattress. I have pre-existing back and neck issues, and after the 3rd of our 4-night stay, I was in so much pain that we booked a room elsewhere just to get some relief. My husband, a chiropractic physician, was alarmed by the effect the bed had on my condition.
I contacted management a week ago and again on Monday to share this experience and I’ve received no response—not even an acknowledgment. That silence only deepens my disappointment. I had hoped to resolve this privately, but given the lack of follow-up, I feel compelled to share my experience publicly.
