Loved this hotel!

The Alda Hotel was the perfect hotel to stay in during our trip to Reykjavik. It was very clean, the bed was so comfortable, and it was located close to restaurants, the church, shopping, and most importantly Broad and Co. Would stay here agin for sure.

Convenient

Hotel responded quickly when we let them know our flight was cancelled and we'd be checking in a day late. Everyone was super friendly. It's conveniently located. Room was very small, but other than that, no complaints.

Fantastic King Suite

We stayed for 3 nights. Room was amazing, King suite, lots of space, big bed, lovely interior & bathroom. Great location. Staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, just moving through the motions. We asked for the late check out and they couldn’t tell me until the check out day. Also they said it was until 2pm when the website said 3, I had to show them the website & they said they will get it changed on the website. Very odd. Nice hotel, staff underwhelming.

Another nice stay

We’ve stayed at this hotel many times now, and seem to end up with a different room type every time. This is great, though, because it helps us understand our options. We had another lovely room on this trip. Plenty big enough to rearrange and prepare 2 large suitcases after a week of Icelandic adventures and still fit a 6’5” husband comfortably. We were able to watch some recognizable movies in English, take a shower with L’Occitane products, use a delightfully powerful hair dryer, and sleep on the comfortable bed. The hotel is conveniently located right next to a Starbucks, right near a grocery, many stores and restaurants, as well as on-street and garage parking. Just don’t park in the garage nearby if you have to head to the airport before 7am (it closes from midnight to 7). We will absolutely stay here again.

Nice room but no A/C

No a/c so it was hot. Comforters were too much on the bed. Needed simple sheet for sleeping but there wasn’t one. Had to crack the window to cool the room down which made it loud for sleeping since we were on the street side next to late night bars and restaurants. Room itself was spacious and well appointed.

A Unforgettable Place!

My stay at Alda & Iceland itself was wonderful. As a solo traveler I felt safe at the hotel & the front desk staff was very helpful as well as friendly! Room was cute & clean. They provided a coffee maker & mini fridge which I stored some items from the Bonus store 2 mins away. I was sad to leave.

Excellent hotel in a perfect location!

The hotel is just a few minutes from the cruise port. It is located on one of the main streets within walking distance of many attractions and lots of shopping. There is even a Starbucks on property. However the room offers great coffee and tea choices as well as a fridge. I have to say the breakfast buffet is the best I've been to in a hotel. It's not your usual carb overload. There are lots of local foods including homemade juice shots. Oatmeal, fruit and yogurt, eggs, sausage, potatoes, beans, homemade breads, pancakes, and lots of cold cuts and cheeses. The room was clean and well appointed with a nice balcony. The bed was very comfortable with fluffy comforters. The bathroom was big. It took a bit to get used to an open shower. I love that they store your luggage if needed. The only thing I was very disappointed in was the staff at the front desk. It wasn't just me, I had several chances to observe them and their interactions. For the most part you feel ignored while waiting to check in or ask a question. A quick... I'll be with you in a moment would go a long way. Once you are being helped they are very nice and attentive.

Spent a week in the hotel

Pros - we had a room on the third floor at the back of the hotel so it was quiet - was able to put the radiator on when it got cold and open the windows when it was too warm - room was cleaned daily - black out curtains were very effective Cons - queen suite was very very small - room was a little tired with some chipped paintwork - no space to unpack. A few hangers were provided - breakfast was adequate but cheaper and much options at the local bakeries
