Clean, comfortable, affordable

This is the place to stay if you're coming to the island to do things on the island, not hang out in your room. Affordable, very clean. Small rooms. Great for sleeping and taking a shower and getting back out into the world. Not always quiet so bring earplugs. If you want to linger in luxurious lodgings, this is not your place. If you want to visit San Juan Island without spending a fortune, this place is clean and comfortable. I slept great.

Orca Inn

The room was very clean the best part , but was so small a night stand was not bedside. We had a queen size bed. The tv would benefit travelers if streaming sites were available. It’s a mile from town but uphill most of the way, still not a bad walk if you’re not carrying large luggage. The shampoo and body soap are in a dispenser so best to bring your own, walk in smaller shower but good. The bed was not comfortable but we managed. A nice advantage is it’s right across the street from a great bakery to get a bite and coffee for breakfast. YI would stay here if you’re on a budget but next time will pay the money for a larger hotel room.

No bikes allowed in room

Great location near the Friday Harbor activities. A bit pricey as a solo traveler but still a better option than other places in the area. They insisted on not allowing bicycles in the room and that they need to be kept outside at the rack. This made it uncomfortable with expensive bikes and many people don't carry bike locks and don't have a car when they come to the island. Please either allow bikes in the room so we can feel comfortable or provide an indoor secure place for bikes. This will promote an eco-friendly and welcoming atmosphere at the inn.

Yikes

No coffee. If you sit on the bed and extend your legs, you're in the bathroom. It is the smallest room I've ever seen. No tv unless you log into one of your streaming accounts. The old fashion keys are ridiculous. You need to lock the hallway door, but the door doesn't close properly. They need to spend a little more on their property.

Friday Harbor

It was about 1 mile away from ferry but definitely walkable. The woman who checked us in was very friendly. The room was clean and small.
