Tranquil, and on the beach
I arrived in the night and was greeted by a member of the staff who quickly checked me in and showed me to my room. The grounds are very well kept and the landscaping is welly manicured. The staff is very friendly and professional. BREAKFAST IS FREE!

Travel guru
This was a perfect bed and breakfast small hotel i think it only has 10 rooms. Well appointed rooms, simple but clean, bed was king size in my room and firm, small TV but no time to watch it. Good linen and towels and good housekeeping. Hotel is directly in front of a very nice beach called Playa Bonita, perfect beach with clear water, surf is good in front or for lake type waters walk 300 yds to the right. Very private area with no traffic perfect if you want to relax and do nothing. Nice lounge chairs and beach towels. Hotel has own restaurant with great home made style dishes. Owners are French and very nice and accomodating. Brsakfast is frssh and good with eggs, juice, fruit, bread jams coffee hot chocolate etc... its about 10mins from town by car or motorbike but its nice to be in a secluded place, safe. Price is very reasonable and worth it. Ive stayed at over 10 hotels in this area over the years and this would be my favorite due to its simplicity, beach, service, value and comfort. Will be back.

Fantastisk!!

Could be better! !!!
Playa Bonita is a great place and the hotel has a great location.
We gotca big room, which was very clean but the owners charge $15 USD if you want to use the air conditioning.
This was very strange and expensive.
Also we arrived about 3 pm and tried to order food or appetizers and they told us the kitchen was closed and will reopen just at 7 pm.
So they did not helped us as guests, but there was still clients there eating.
Next day, we had lunch there and where very disappointed with the food.

A découvrir

Fantastic hotel! A true home away from home!!
It was fantastic! Simple and quiet, conveniently located right in front of a beautiful beach, amazing food, amazing cocktails. All you want is right there at Casa Grande! And if you decide to go on excursions rest assured that the staff will organize anything that strikes your fancy! Simply perfect to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Perfect getaway
We had an absolute magical time in the Dominican and I am very glad we chose to stay at Casa Grande. The staff was very nice and the owner went out of her way to make us feel special. Because there are only 7 rooms there, it has a quiet and intimate feel to it. There were many times we were literally the only people there sunning on our own private garden by the beach. The food was delicious ( you HAVE to try the lobster spaghetti), the grounds were well maintained and the room was clean. There is a guy named Ronaldo who speaks very good English and he is there every day from 9-1. He can help with anything! He set up our excursions, gave us directions, rented our motorcycle, etc. He is a huge asset to the place.
The only downfalls were that the staff speaks very limited English. Owner knows a little but through pointing and charades, we were able to get anything we needed. Also, the water was only hot 1 night we were there. I have heard this is typical in the Dominican but I am used to my scorching American showers. Lastly, the free wifi is great and picks up nicely in the area with the bar and eating, but it spotty in the room (at least in ours-#6) and as you get closer to the beach to sit. I would have liked to have been able to play games online, watch tv shows, etc when I was chilling in my room but the signal wasn't strong enough. There is a small tv inside which only has 1 American channel but that didn't bother me because we didn't need a tv on vacation.

Nice beach hotel
Hotel set on a beautiful palmed beach -- Playa Bonita. There's a surf school nearby but the surf wasn't large and swimming seemed very safe. Large lawn for lounging. You can walk the beach in both directions or take the paved path that parallels it. When we were there (late January), it was uncrowded. The hotel has a very nice outdoor restaurant covered with a thatched roof. Food is highly regarded but we were both under the weather during our one night and couldn't partake. Still, there were quite a few customers, some who seemed to have walked from nearby hotels. Our room was fine and the king bed was very comfortable.
If you're considering a stay on Playa Bonita, the main thing to keep in mind is that the only facilities nearby are other hotels and a few restaurants. There are no shops, convenience stores, or ATMs. A taxi to Las Terrenas is easy to arrange but costs $15 US one way. If you're brave (we weren't), you can hire a ride on the back of a motorbike for much less. The hotel will arrange excursions to nearby attractions if you tire of Playa Bonita.

great for the price dont expect a 4 stars!
Probably the best you could find for the price on the Island!! The breakfast is great, the rooms are big the beach is just in front... Room are simple, AC in but no glass windows... It's a local style hotel owned by a nice French couple. Restaurant is nice definitely a must try if travelling on a small budget and willing to stay away from the all inclusive form

No service.
There is no reception desk, just an empty bar. The manager was only there when we checked in and we never saw him again. He never returned any of our phone calls for the following days. Our air conditioner did not work when we arrived and was not fixed for many hours, and the internet was not working for half our stay. The restaurant is closed on Mondays, and opened about three hours late the next day. We still haven't heard from them and it's been a month.
