Overall, the hotel has a great location, nice amenities, and a well-maintained property. The staff were friendly and the place has a pleasant overall atmosphere. That said, a few things felt inconsistent with expectations. At check-in we were asked to sign a document listing fairly high damage charges for various items. After that, it was surprising to enter a room with visible wear—scuffed walls and what looked like a watermark on the ceiling from a past leak. Since I work in property management, I documented the room condition right away, but it wasn’t the best first impression given the strict damage policy. We also booked a dog-friendly suite, but were told our dog couldn’t be left alone in the room and had to accompany us whenever we left the hotel. For a pet-friendly room, that felt a bit restrictive and could be challenging for some travelers. The property itself is clean and the staff were polite, but there are more rules and potential fees than I’ve seen at similar hotels (for example, charges for lost pool towels). There’s also a blanket ban on any marijuana products. While no-smoking policies make sense, the rule seemed broad—especially in Washington where non-smoking medical CBD products are legal. Overall, it’s still a lovely property and we enjoyed the location and amenities. Now that we understand the policies, we’d simply plan differently next time.

Our visit was wonderful. The room was bight and well decorated in a beach theme. We had an unobstructed view of the sunset with a small deck with room for deck chairs. The staff was pleasant, notably, Mandy. We will definitely return.

Staff were wonderful and our room looked nice. The bed was really hard and uncomfortable. I woke up in so much pain. Though I requested a pet free room and was given one it smelled like wet dog and bothered our allergies horribly. It's odd that you can't use their internet to stream any shows but hey you can rent some dvds from them for $3 each. They do have cable TV but honestly there wasn't a lot of choices. There didn't appear to be any AC in the room but there was a large box fan. Being on the 3rd floor our room got too warm even in February. I wouldn't stay here in the summer though.

Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen area was well supplied. The balcony provided a lovely view of the dunes and ocean. A beach-themed decor in the room was a perfect choice for the setting. The front-desk staff was at all times welcoming and accommodating. We look forward to returning.

The room was clean and they had all the necessities and then some. Staff was friendly. Great price. The mattress wasn't amazingly comfortable but we still slept fine. The only downside we experienced was that the trail to the beach was super muddy and was blocked by logs and debris. The trail itself may not be part of the hotel property so maybe they aren't responsible for maintaining it??

When we arrived we requested an early check in. We were disappointed because the room wasn’t ready as there was a maintenance issue with the door. It was understandable and we browsed the local shops and visited the beach for an hour. We arrived back and were able to check in. The lobby and social areas were clean and smelled like an ocean scent. It was pleasant. We brought our puppy and reserved the two bedroom suite. The room was decorated beautifully, the room was clean and the had dog blankets, towels, dishes, and a treat waiting for him. The beds were okay, they offered more than enough pillows and it was comfortable. The pool was great! My family enjoyed it. We didn’t get to experience the hot tub, that was bummer. We are excited for our next stay at the Canterbury inn!
