Please hire staff to clean up and help the old man
Upon early arrival at 2 PM I was told to come back at 4 and the room would be ready. I came back at 4 PM to be told it wasn’t ready to come back at 5. I came back at 5 and was told it still wasn’t ready because most people done check out until 11:00 AM. Well that then needs to be a concern of the owner/s to have the appropriate number of housekeepers on at that time to be able to have all rooms ready for check in time at 4:00 PM. The older gentleman that finally checked me in apologized but did not offer any compensation at all. I should not have to ask for this. He is a very kind gentleman who makes you feel you shouldn’t ask for compensation. There is not enough staff working to maintain Golden Sands as it should be. The exterior of the buildings look very shabby with run down not taken care of staircases with cobwebs, dust, dirt and debris including sand and dirt. In desperate need of cleaning. The room that we were given it had broken and bent blinds. The beds were directly in front of this window that people could see directly in while walking the upper balcony. I actually had to use a container lid for the bigger opening and I had to wrap toilet paper over the other broken blinds to help from people seeing in. There was no sink in the bathroom. There was a counter with microwave and coffee maker on it that also had the sink to use after using the bathroom. Dishes and dish detergent were sparsely supplied so I guess it has to be used for both. The location is a 5 star.
