When I booked it, I knew nothing of the history of the building. This was an arena, not intended to be a hotel. And that explains it. I guess imagine if your local mall that was built a few decades ago decided to be a hotel. Extrapolate that. That’s what this is. I arrived to a broken toilet and a thermostat that didn’t seem to do anything. When you start your visit with maintenance coming to see you, it’s not going to paint your visit very well.
The elevator to the top of the pyramid was neat. But one of the glass floor panels was shattered. See photo. The view of Memphis was lovely, but I didn’t trust the deck because tourists kept jumping up and down on the deck near the shattered panel like lunatics.
It was okay to stay the night, but I don’t think I’ll go back, especially for the price. The breakfast was so expensive I skipped it.
