Check in and staff were excellent. Check out, whilst very pleasant, I wasn’t even asked about my stay.
In Room 14, there was only one set of towels provided despite there being two of us staying, so we had to request more. The duvet cover was torn at the corner, meaning the duvet was coming out, and the bedding had noticeable spotted stains. There was also a large gap under the door which let a significant amount of light in from the corridor, making the room very bright at night and resulting in an extremely poor night’s sleep.
The corridors leading to the room felt very tired and in need of maintenance, with paint peeling from doors and walls. Even the fire hose, which was so high up you probably couldn’t use it if you needed to anyway, was covered in thick dust, which didn’t give a great impression.
The shower was another let-down. The water pressure was extremely weak, making it difficult to rinse off properly. The shower head was positioned very low (or the bath unusually high), meaning I had to crouch to stand underneath it. The only positive here was the provision of Dove toiletries, which was a nice touch.
Breakfast was average at best. The hash browns were soggy, seemingly steamed rather than crisp due to the container they were kept in.
Overall, at £116 per night, this stay was extremely disappointing and certainly not worth the money.
