We stayed at Amber Hotel in Grand Bend Beach for two nights and paid over $600—but what we experienced was far from what you’d expect at that price point.
The room was dirty and poorly maintained. There was visible dust, stains, and dirt in multiple areas. The soap dispenser was filthy, and the hairdryer was dusty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The bathroom had yellow stains, poorly patched caulking, and a general feeling of neglect.
What shocked us most was that we found an insect that looked like a bed bug on the bed the first night. We took a photo and killed it immediately. That alone made the stay extremely uncomfortable.

On top of everything, no housekeeping service came during our stay—no fresh towels, no cleaning, nothing. That’s unacceptable for a hotel at this price level. It honestly felt more like a low-end motel than a proper hotel.
We were very dissatisfied and would not return or recommend this place. Amber Hotel needs a serious deep cleaning and better management before charging guests this kind of money.
