This was by far our favorite stay on our trip to France. We traveled with two adults and two young adult children. We stayed in the family suite which was perfect for us. This hotel is very unique - in an old cardinal's residence located in Villeneuve just west across the river from Avignon. Despite being in a substantial old stone building full of character, the rooms were very comfortable, clean, etc. The hotel also has a beautiful garden area with terrace overlooking the river. Parking is on the street next to the hotel, but very safe. The staff are friendly, efficient, and helpful, provided dining recommendations and introduced us to Villeneuve, which is the wonderful neighborhood where the hotel is located. We were very happy to stay outside the busy town of Avignon. We also visited Pont du Gard after checkout, so the hotel's location just west of Avignon made driving there much easier. We would return to the hotel for any future stays in Avignon.
