Misleading advertisement. Lot of extra rules and requirements couldn't enjoy the stay without feeling like i was going to charged with more hidden fee. Not your typical hotel stay for sure.

This was intended for a family trip. And it was not appropriate for children at all. This was for adults there were loud drag shows all day & night creating noise above the master bedroom. The pool was nice, the room was okay. The hallway smelled like pot & cigars. The location was great across from the beach. The view was very partial. But it was nice. The location for adults was very good with many shops, restaurants and bars. The bath/ shower was broken and leaked. You could only use the above shower head not the wand but regardless every time we showered there was water all on the floor.

Right in the middle of everything

The room was in an amazing place, right in the middle of everything fun happening in Miami Beach. Right on top of a drag bar, which definitely meant some late nights were had, but I would 100% stay here again.

It was a VIBE

The stay was great we came for a quick birthday trip and the location was EVERYTHING!! Do no recommend if for some reason you came to to South Beach and you're looking for a good night sleep. The bar had live performance every night but for US it was a real VIBE. The rooftop pool also had the most amazing views. Ho ahead and book if you're looking to enjoy the are and close proximity to the beach

Everything was fantastic. Front desk personnel were very helpful and accommodating. The owners of the room were super nice and very responsive, they even left extra towels at the desk for us. There is easy access to Ocean Drive and the beach is barely a three minute walk away. The room was great, very spacious and clean. Having a fully stocked and operational kitchenette was especially nice and a great way to save money on meals. One critique I do have is that the shower curtains were very short allowing a lot of water on the floor. Wow, almost forgot to mention the rooftop pool and bar! What a nice touch to have a pool that looks out over the entire beach. Overall I give this place a 12 out of ten. We have found our South Beach go-to and will definitely be back.

Room was extremely dirty and nearly in disrepair. Shower was disgusting. Club below is unbelievably loud all day until 2AM. Pool on the rooftop is nice until 3-9pm when its open to the public with a DJ. Would avoid this hotel all together

Very loud music until 1am. No instructions for TVs & something wrong with Direct TV connection in our room & room next to us. We finally figured out our & did same for unit next to ours but there was definitely a delay in the connection.

The Strand Ocean Drive Suites was one of the worst experiences my family has had in overnight accommodations. It was disgustingly dirty, the bedding, sheets & pillows appeared they had not been cleaned. There was a strong chemical deodorizer smell that was used to mask the smell of smoke from various substances that had penetrated the walls and furniture - the unit owner told us to just open the windows. There was a homeless guy hanging out in the unsecured elevator lobby who was doing drugs. This coupled with walking down a dark outside walkway to the elevator made my family feel very unsafe and insecure. The unit was over a nightclub that played extremely loud music there was no way we would have been able to sleep. Many items were broken or simply worn out. The issues were insurmountable, I called the owner (since this is not a hotel) and explained all of this to him. He told me he was sorry but he wouldn't refund the money. This wasn't a hotel, there were just a few private units that were owned and they were just renting them out. You'll see some reviews that appear fake but if you read through other reviews you'll get a better feel for what I'm talking about. We immediately left this place and booked another room through Expedia. This was anything but a "Grand King Suite Partial Ocean View w/Balcony 2". I filed a complaint with Expedia.

The property is remotely managed and is awfully done. The owner is very responsive but basics are missing. Had to go to the reception twice to get the key card keyed in. The flush didn't work and the owners response was pick up the back lid and pull the chain. I will call a technician when I can. These are basics which should be checked. The room was freezing at thermostat set to 62. Again the response was open the windows open it will be better. Highly disappointed with the whole place. The pool was decent size but not not clean

I read so many reviews that have complaints about this and other local places lacking modern touches. It’s ridiculous. The whole district is Victorian, everything is pretty old but largely updated. Were we in an old building? Absolutely. Were there modern touches? Absolutely. The bottom line is that the location of this hotel is absolutely perfect if you wish to experience South Beach, and we felt comfortable and safe for the night. Would stay again.

I called the owner to complain about the shower he was too rude I am personally not happy with his attitude and his property I ask for the cleaning and changing the the bedsheets they drop off the everything in the garbage bag and left it in the room I am not recommending this property to any one even when the first I was booking the property my son pay with his debit card but the owner called me and ask me for Zelle then he charge me 35 extra when I checked my Expedia charge

Room was advertised as top floor balcony suite with rooftop pool. Upon check-in at 4:00 there was a sign that pool would close at 5:00 for entire stay due to private party. Our room was also 2 buildings away from the pool. Room was on 5th floor with elevator out of order part of the day.

This was the worst hotel stay I have had in Miami EVER!!! The property is privately owned now and the “host” of our property was terrible! The air conditioning in one of our rooms wasn’t working properly, and instead of trying to accommodate us and make sure that we were ok the “host” (his name is Rob) gave me a hard time about being uncomfortable in a room that was 86 degrees. I will never stay at the Strand again and I wish there was more I can do to warn people regarding this property!

Lower your expectations

Upon arrival the elevator was not functioning, so we had to carry luggage up 3 flights of steps. It worked for a bit, but was down again when we checked out...so down 3 flights again with luggage in tow. The reception area was musky, and more intimidating than welcoming. The stairwell needed attention, paint was peeling from the rails and musky. The pictures are much nicer than the room actually was and the size was exaggerated. Mine was not 800sft. The room is just okay, but not worth what I paid each night. The bed is ultra firm. The AC is full blast or off...there is no adjusting the thermostat although we tried, so it is sweat or freeze...or keep flipping the switch. As far as the sound, I was forewarned that there would be loud music, but was told it wouldn't be too bad from where my room was located. Not true. The music was extremely loud...like I was front and center at the bar...and it went on all night!!!
