The location is great, it was comfortable and had everything we needed. The air conditioning didn’t function very well and the shower floor was treacherous — like a skating rink. That said, I would stay here again.

Great location, apt was a great size for family of four and had all the necessities. Couch and living room chair are very stylish and comfortable. Mattresses are stiff and the airflow could be improved. The bedroom gets stuffy with the door closed. Parking locations provided we're not easy to locate, possibly due to construction. We used a different lot which was fine.

Family Getaway

We stayed here as a family and the location was great. Our front door was VERY squeaky and noisy but other than that everything was good. The pillows weren't our favourite but we made due. The beds were comfy for me and our daughter as they're on the firmer side. There were lots of glasses, cups, plates, and everything was very stocked and there were replacements in the lobby.

Great place to stay in Old Montreal

Excellent location, very spacious comfortable and clean. Easy to access and close to subways, restaurants and attractions. Locked storage units would be very convenient for guest who arrive earlier, that would be a great adfition as there’s plenty of space in the lobby. Will definitely be back!

Another great stay with Sonder

This is the second time I've stayed at Penny Lane, and it was an even better stay than the last (which was also great). We stayed in a queen studio suite, which was located at the front of the building. With a street facing unit, there was street noise as there are several restaurants and bars on St Jacques, but it wasn't excessive and is typical of a downtown experience. If you are sensitive to noise, selecting a room with a balcony would be better for you so it puts you in the courtyard and off the main street. The suite itself was excellently laid out, extremely clean, and both the furniture and bed were extremely comfortable. Sonder offers a self serve pantry, which is extremely handy to get additional supplies like coffee, tissues, etc should you need extras. I will absolutely stay at Penny Lane again.

Perfect spot

Room was clean. Everything you needed was there in the kitchen. Easy and convenient to access with codes and messages. The bedroom have no lights other then bedside lamps - more lights would be efficient and no mirrors in bedroom. Fantastic time and will day again at a Sonders.

Parfait, propre et très très bien situé.

Tout était parfait, mais le réseau internet très lent et qui se déconnecte toujours… très désagréable. Surtout que la télévision doit être connectée sur le wifi de l’hôtel pour fonctionner. Le studio était plus petit que les photos, mais il ne manquait rien de plus. C’était facile et agréable de cuisiner dans ce studio. Puisqu’il est situé dans le centre-ville et que c’est bruyant à l’extérieur de l’hôtel, j’ai vraiment apprécié la petite « machine à sons » sur la table de chevet. Le bruit des vagues nous ont permis de bien dormir malgré la proximité de la rue. Enfin, la proximité d’absolument tout, resto, pharmacie, boulangerie et du métro etc…était plus qu’espérée.

Love Penny Pane

Perfect location and all the requirements and supplies for an amazing independent stay in terms of cooking, laundry and relaxing. As well as access to fantastic restaurants and attractions Montréal has to offer. Loved Penny Lane and Sonders in Montreal generally.

Unbearably Noisy

I was unfortuantely assigned a room on the 3rd floor that faces a restaurant that turns into a dance party around midnight and they blasted music from 12am to 3am-ish. Even on Sunday and Monday. The room had earplugs and a sound machine (never a good sign) but that wasn't nearly enough. Loud people on the street filing out, smoking and yelling added noise until even later in the night. This isn't Sonder's fault ultimately but I got so little sleep, I left 2 days early. Would not book this particular one again. I have otherwise generally enjoyed the Sonder brand but this was a miss for me.

A great stay at Sonder

This was my second Sonder unit rental. I very much appreciate their services and convenience of using their app for everything from door codes and check in/out options, as well as communication with their customer service for support. Parking is definitely not convenient, however there are several underground lots with a very reasonable distance ($25/24hours, which is not horrible for a major city core). The units at Penny Lane were nicely furnished, and the building was clean. The front door seemed to stick, so you have to pull the main door tightly behind you to ensure it's properly closed. The unit that I rented was great, although it did have a few issues - the bathtub drain would not release, and the kitchen lights were all burnt out. I did contact Sonder, and they did have someone look at the issues while I was there. The bathtub drain plug was removed and replaced, however the issue with the kitchen lights was not resolved by the time I left. There were other overhead lights and lamps available, so this didn't necessarily take away from my stay. The one thing that I did not see mentioned in previous reviews are that these units all look into each other over a courtyard. A good use of space, however it does take away from any privacy. I would absolutely stay here again.
