Historic place but needs some help

Upon pulling up there was no valet outside so we just parked out front, later told there was a valet and he would park our car.... but still first impressions. We checked in, and went to our room to find that it was at 63 with the AC running, Mind you it is March and 54 outside. Went back to front desk and was told "since it is an old building a bunch of the rooms are controlled together. Someone else complained they were hot. We can give you a space heater" after asking to speak to a manager, who could not be located, another gentleman found a solution and we got heat running. The bar tender was amazing and bought us drinks for the inconvenience. Overall it is an interesting place, the experience got better between the bartender and the woman working the checkout but we would not return. Oh- and window in the room was painted shut. Not a safe or good feeling!

A Great Anniversary

The experience at The Detroit Club was elegant. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in downtown Detroit. The spa was very relaxing. My wife and I will definitely be staying there again

Beautiful, classy, cozy

Beautiful, classy, cozy stay at the Detroit Club. This was, by far, one of the best hotels in which we have ever stayed. Next time we will be sure to enjoy the spa. We loved the library bar (Michael took great care of us) and the cigar room. Old school style :)

I liked the Vintage look of how the Hotel rooms are. Service just wasn’t that great! My Husband and I decided to do a staycation for our bday which happens to be a day apart. The ball was dropped in a few areas. For starters we never got our “Welcome” Champagne until the day we were leaving. They don’t tell you that if you’re not a member it’s a fee of $25 to stay at the Hotel. Valet is $35, yet the day we checked out my Husband had to go to the garage and get the Truck himself. Totally unacceptable, and if you check out too slowly because you misplaced a bracelet that has come off your wrist of 14 years. They will very swiftly charge you $50 without warning. So the $100 refundable deposit turned into $125 of a charge. It’s other places you can stay at Downtown that aren’t as costly or hurting for money that they try to get whatever they can from you. Do yourself a favor if you just like to throw away money stay here. If not keep searching

Perfect Stay

Beautiful historic building with comfortable and spacious rooms. The decor in the rooms and throughout the building were gorgeous. The staff were all helpful and friendly. We enjoyed Happy Hour and live music in The Library during our stay. There are many nice restaurants nearby and the People Mover station across the street made getting around the city convenient. They also provided a nice breakfast in the mornings. We will definitely return.

Was a beautiful hotel but for starter checked in super late and had to wait in lobby for 30 mins waiting on an employee to come back to the front desk. Then was sent to the wrong room. After room situation was fixed was put in a room that wouldnt warm up. Had the heat on highest setting but room stayed 68 so getting out of the hot tub was terrible. Then i asked for a late check out seeing that i checked in at 10pm was told no. The free breakfast was old and microwave eggs and warm oj and stale bread. Beautiful building but very poorly ran.

Beautiful property filled with disrespectful staff. I stayed at this hotel for two nights in the spa Jacuzzi suite celebrating my 43rd birthday in Detroit. Valet parking was $35 per night and the service was deplorable. I waited 25 minutes at 10:30 pm for anyone to show up at valet. Only for an older white man to disrespect me regarding needing to be valet parked. It was unbelievable. I complained to management and they sent me a bottle of rosé to my room. The next morning upon exiting the elevator I was questioned by a middle-aged black woman regarding what room I was in. When I asked her for what reason, she began to speak under her breath as if I offended her and huff really loudly. And checkout day I was greeted at 11:03 by Strong knock on my door stating anytime after 11 o'clock it's gonna be $50 extra. And they walked away. I could only laugh at some of the events that happened at this hotel negatively because the entire time I had an awesome amazing Spirit because I was celebrating God's gift of another year of life. So I simply just ignored these several things to not ruin my staycation. This hotel was absolutely beautiful place but I would never ever return to receive the treatment I received after paying $300 a night for a room.
