A decent place to stay! The room was fine, if a little cold, but the additional heater warmed it up well. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly and I had a lovely pint in the bar. Coniston is well worth a visit and The Sun is definitely worth staying at.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable pub/restaurant/hotel with its own parking. A wonderful terrace with great views to enjoy whilst having a afternoon/evening drink. Great spot for a short stay in the lakes.

My wife and I were due to be staying at The Sun for a second time having thoroughly enjoyed our previous visit. Unfortunately, I fractured my ankle the week before our latest trip and the management team at The Sun were extremely understanding and accomodating a booking move at short notice, something they weren't required to do via Hotels.co.uk. Great staff, food and views

Lovely little hotel that serves great food and has the friendliest staff you will ever meet. Had a good sized, comfortable room with a lovely view. We’re very dog friendly, even cooking an extra breakfast sausage for her! Would highly recommend, we had a wonderful stay.

Fabulous, cosy Hotel. Clean, comfortable and dog friendly. The staff here are so friendly, helpful and genuinely can't do enough for you. Had the best nights sleep-the bed was so very comfortable. The breakfast and the food in the bar is delicious, plentyful, well presented and a great choice of menu. Our only criticism is there are no outdoor bins to dispose of used doggy bags. We will definately be going back though.
