Hotel was in a good location in the heart of Hahndorf. I booked an upstairs room but was upgraded to the ground floor chalet. Room was spacious with lots of bench space. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was a decent size with a corner spa. Good lighting in the room. Lots of parking. Staff were great and no issues with check in which was later in the evening.

We stayed in a heritage room upstairs and overlooking the street. The room, staircase and corridors were a bit dated but probably to be expected in an old building. That said the bathroom was new and included a spa bath. Very nice. The bed was new and very comfortable. I probably would have liked a bit more lighting around the bed for reading. The meals in the dining room were tasty and good value. The location is very good for shopping. We could hear soft music playing outside in the evening and a bit of traffic in the morning, but it was very quiet overnight and we had no trouble sleeping

The motel and room was terribly outdated and in poor condition. Our room was over hotel and so we could hear music until early hours. Mattress on bed was in poor condition and uncomfortable. Had very poor sleep will not be going back.

The furniture and fittings our outdated. But the bed was comfortable, single bed sunk quite a lot when sat on so glad I didn’t need to sleep on that. Served its purpose. Had somewhere to sleep, shower and east parking.

No remote for tv and no reponse to 8 requests over 3 days missed Aussie Grand Prix no room service over three days had to collect our own coffee pods reason being new cleaning contract apparently and the cleaner didn’t understand English no way to wash our cups or glasses except with hot water. Bathroom facilities were extremely poor for seniors height of access to shower was higher than the toilet 50 cm or more so unsure on feet totally unsafe. No nothing to hang onto. Apparently risk assessment had been done therefore no reason for us to complain. unable to shower on own as difficulty getting out of the shower which was in the Jacuzzi also the light switch did not have a backing on it and moved. If you lent against it or push totally unsafe reported all these issues to the receptionist, I think had asked to see the hotel manager who apparently wasn’t available or on the premises really concerned about the fact that after promising to contact us four days have passed no response.

There is no connection to the WiFi in the room. You can hear your neighbors talking easily and same thing happens to them. Rest are all good, helpful staff and convenient facilities, easy parking etc

Disappointing experience

Arrived at 2pm, the room was not ready. There was an issue with the cleaners according to the staff, which happens, however the staff were not adaptable, did not work well under pressure and provided little solution to the problem. We had a wedding to get to and needed our room to get ready. Not until we suggested they give us any room to get ready was this solution adapted. This greatly inconvenienced us and really ruined the stay. The room was very tired and did not warrant the $240 per night price. Overall a very disappointing experience.

This was the first time I’ve stayed at the Old Mill and have to say I was very happy. I stayed in a life room with 4 other members of my family. The room was very comfortable and the staff were amazing. They couldn’t do enough for us. I will definitely recommend it to my other family and friends. See you again in the future. 😊

We booked this place as it was centrally located on the main street close to the attractions & cafes. Immediately upon arrival we noticed that the room was old, stuffy & run-down and badly in need of a paint job. There were large cracks & cobwebs on the walls, the carpet was old and patchy in places. We were excited for a spa bath after our long drive from Melbourne but then noticed that there were used mini shampoo & conditioner bottles as well as used soap left by the bathtub. The towels were not fresh.The toilet had not been flushed & was disgusting. Basically the bathroom had not been cleaned. We immediately went to let the front desk know.As we checked in late at night, the girl at the front desk, even though shocked, said she will let the cleaners know in the morning. She provided us with clean towels...but we reluctantly only had a shower after our long trip. We couln't wait to leave...not recommended at all.
