We stayed in a heritage room upstairs and overlooking the street. The room, staircase and corridors were a bit dated but probably to be expected in an old building. That said the bathroom was new and included a spa bath. Very nice. The bed was new and very comfortable. I probably would have liked a bit more lighting around the bed for reading. The meals in the dining room were tasty and good value. The location is very good for shopping. We could hear soft music playing outside in the evening and a bit of traffic in the morning, but it was very quiet overnight and we had no trouble sleeping

Disappointing experience

Arrived at 2pm, the room was not ready. There was an issue with the cleaners according to the staff, which happens, however the staff were not adaptable, did not work well under pressure and provided little solution to the problem. We had a wedding to get to and needed our room to get ready. Not until we suggested they give us any room to get ready was this solution adapted. This greatly inconvenienced us and really ruined the stay. The room was very tired and did not warrant the $240 per night price. Overall a very disappointing experience.

You have to clib creaky, winding stairs to get to your room The room needed refurbishment 20 years ago. The TV did not work The bedframe is dangerous being bigger than the mattress. I knocked my leg and drew blood. I had to wait over 60 minutes for my meal. The carpet was filthy. The whole place a disgrace

Stayed here before and everything is rhe same but very tired. A/C filters havent been cleaned for years so A/C kept freezing up. Ceiling fan very noisy at switch? Remote for TV was different model so hard to control properly. In saying that we enjoyed our stay.but the hotel would be much nicer if upkeep was kept up.( renos going on in the bar as well)

Reasonable.

The room was clean and comfortable. But I did have trouble with locking the door. I did not report it as I worked out how to lock the door properly. The door handle on the inside is not located properly. But the door handle and lock does need to be fixed. There was no information in the room to tell me if I had trouble or times of contact with staff if I required information. No map of locate area or tourism information. Tea in the Bistro was good.

Good, however requires improvement

Great location however very dated. Dirty carpets & arrogant Englishman Manager didn’t quite make the cut, please replace him with a friendly representative & you will be on a winning team. Australian staff were very nice which did make a pleasant impression. Housekeepers were very polite and wonderful, perhaps they could teach the manager some lessons in etiquette.

Great check in, friendly service

We had an upstairs hotel room which we have stayed in before and was quite comfortable but unfortunately this time the TV would not turn in and the window would not wind shut and had no screens. This made traffic noise quite loud and dogs yapping etc. I plugged the bedside light into powerpoint tv was connected to and it was the actual PowerPoint. The lady that greets us when we arrive at the hotel is absolutely amazing and very helpful and was disappointed in morning when we explained about power point and window. Meals are quite nice but a bit dearer than the other hotel. There gaming room has just been fully renovated and is very comfortable with free coffee and soft drinks and food offered. I definitely would stay here again as good parking off road. Great service, good meals. Let them know about problems and hopefully sorted for next visit
