"We stay in the “newer” hotel in the back room of the main hotel. To be honest, it felt like a penitentiary with all the concrete walls. When we got back there, two police cars were in front of the hotel. Once you see the hotel, you can understand why. There were quite a few folks loitering outside. We did not feel safe. We also had issues with both of our keys the following day and couldn’t get in. We went to the front desk to get another set. While in line, I found out that other guests had the same issues, claiming that it was happening daily. The staff said it must have gotten desensitized due to our phone or wallet. Reasonable. It does happen. I held the new keys in my hands as I walked back to the room. Again, both those keys did not work. They insisted again that it got desensitized, but how could it when it was never in my pocket with my phone or wallet. Gave me another set and you guessed it. It did not work again. The staff was apathetic and I was fed up. I asked to be checked out right away. I was able to get my money back for the unused days after I pushed for it. It was my fault for selecting this hotel even though it had a low rating (6.8 out of 10). It was the closest in proximity to the Great Parks in Irvine (5 minutes). Next time, I would pay double and drive 30 minutes out for a much better hotel and experience."
