"Great place and great breakfast. I do like how the restaurant is used for breakfast. Older rooms. The smell of the room was “off”, not that pleasant. Overall stay was good. Price was high for what you get."

"The hotel is clean, upscale, and the restaurant and bar choices on site were great! Arriba has great food and drinks and the diner was so yummy. Be prepared to wait on the weekends though without a reservation. My only complaint is the size of the rooms in The Tommie. For a weekend stay it’s ok, but anything longer and it would start to feel like the walls are closing in on you. The only sink breaks up the entry and the bed. The shower and toilet area are tight and minimal room to move around the bed. But beds were comfortable and would look to stay here again, but definitely get a bigger room."

"Breakfast was great! There was a great variety of food and it was delicious. The one thing people need to know about this place is that the rooms are not sound proof or anywhere near. We stayed on the 8th floor, and we could clearly hear what people were saying in the hallways and in the room next to ours. It was loud and hard to sleep because of that. For that reason, I would not stay at this property again, although the rooms themselves were nice and well maintained."

"I liked the location. Walking distance to 6th Street and all the attractions. I loved my room, which was large and very clean. Very good buffet breakfast."

"Check in was flawless. This hotel has a fragrance that is so memorable and I wish I could immerse myself in it. It’s not heavy, it’s clean and iconic. Diana greeted us at check in and she was simply amazing. I had booked a king size room with at random on accident that was ADA compliant. She offered a walk in shower option that we enjoyed much more, the room overlooked the pool. We had stayed here years ago when they first opened for our anniversary and they have remained consistent in their attention to detail. We had a concert to attend and that was our reason for going to Austin. However, staying at the Fairmount is a treat, it’s an event within itself. We ordered room service for breakfast and it was perfection. This is my absolute favorite hotel and I travel often. I can’t wait to return and I know the people and the service will be just the way I fondly remember it. I miss it already! Thank you!!"

"Front desk staff was fine. The other staff within the hotel is lacking. The poolside bar staff was pretty rude. The guy argued with me about what I ordered … even when he turned out to be wrong he was still rude. Coffee shop staff also give off the air that they would rather pour coffee on you than for you. We have stayed at this location a few times and probably will start staying somewhere else. It’s a great location and the pool is heated and peaceful but we’re tired of dealing with employees that make our stay unpleasant. "
