Our room was cosy and was spacious. It was downstairs and was clean and served with making sure having coffee, toilette paper etc. Parking works well. Very walkable distance from the royal mile.

stayed for a week at Capital House with my college age son while he was looking for a long term rental to attend the University. the Location was perfect for walking to campus. The room was spacious and comfortable with the European charm of large windows and ornamental plaster mouldings. Ali, the owner, was super helpful with recommendations, both he and his wife were so friendly it was like staying with family. My family will definitely stay here again when we visit our son at school.

Very nice guest house, close to the center, only 10 min. walking distance. The owners were really very kind, helpful, gave us lot of recommendation for visits sightseeing, restaurants etc. Nice view from the room (Arthur´s Seat)

This was our first stop and night in Edinburgh. Our wonderful host let us check in early. This sure helped us as we were tired and stressed from travel and trying to drive in Edinburgh. lol We had a wonderful stay at their home and they provided us with 2 wonderful Scottish breakfast to start our day with. If you run across my review and you are trying to decide...let this help you...stay here, they are the best, you will feel at home and be treated great!

Nice people, nice breakfast - just nice! Not a central location - about a 20 minute walk to the Royal Mile - but we prefer the quiet to the noise of the more touristy areas and it's a nice walk. Definitely recommend.

Everyone was accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was well prepared and plentiful.

It was a bit out of the way from Royal Mile area, but we like to walk-so it wasn’t so bad for us. It is about a mile from Royal Mile.

We really liked the location! It was away from the center of town which made it so much more relaxing! The bus stop right across the street in front of hotel. There were numerous bus lines available that took you to anywhere in the city w/very little confusion! (Plus the Scots really help you when you need it!) We really enjoyed the English breakfast! (Try the Black pudding! It tastes like a black bean veggie paddie!) The owner and his staff were very accommodating and nice!!

The staff was very helpful! Could leave luggage early and it was delivered to our room. Clearly the Dog House was about making everyone comfortable. The free beer for using towels more than once was fun... Never heard one bit of sound from the bar area! Oh and so close to everything if you are walking and using the trains!

Everything I could have hoped for and more. Perfect location, beautiful room, extra friendly staff, clean and quiet. LOVED our stay here.

Enjoyed our stay here. Room was a great size with comfortable beds. Location is excellent: 5 min walk to the castle, and around a variety of shops and restaurants and a very safe area. Staff was helpful and friendly. The only “con” is parking for the hotel, which is about a 15 min walk away, so can be challenging if driving.
