JW Marriott Hotel Kolkata
10/10 Excellent
"My family and I stayed at JW Marriott Kolkata last weekend. We had the most luxurious stay. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. But the food was the highlight for us … it was simply divine. Big thanks to Arvind Singh (operations manager at JW Kitchen) for organising the restaurant so incredibly well. Excellent quality food and amazing service! Huge shoutout and gratitude Souvik and Bishal for serving us with the utmost hospitality and care. Souvik really went over and beyond to make us feel welcome and help us find preparations suitable to our pure veg dietary requirements. Souvik really excelled in his service. Thank you Souvik! Also thanks to Shreya at guest relations for her friendly and smooth checkin. I really appreciated her hospitality alot. We will certainly be back and encourage all travellers with young families to stay at JW Marriott Kolkata where you get the most wonderful 5 star stay!"
"Great hotel with the most helpful and caring staff. Special thanks to Ms. Sneha at the reception for doing an outstanding job of taking great care during my parents’ stay."
"The check-in process was frustrating. The hotel’s payment system did not accept international Apple Pay, despite it being widely accepted at the airport and even within the hotel’s own café. This resulted in multiple unnecessary transactions and delays after a long journey.
More concerning was the persistent noise disturbance. There were loud birthday parties with DJ music that carried straight through the walls into the room. I was unwell during the stay and had to make repeated calls to the front desk to address the issue. While the duty manager was responsive, the matter was never meaningfully resolved, and there was no follow-up from senior management despite a request to escalate to the General Manager.
This lack of ownership and guest care stands in stark contrast to industry standard for five star properties.
I will consider giving this property one more chance, but this experience has certainly impacted my perception of the Hyatt brand as a loyal customer."
