My stay at the route in. Nagaizumi was nice. The hotel was comfortable and the staff were nice, but the town was rather unexciting, and without a car it would take rather long walking to get anywhere other than the small outlet a half kilometer down the road.

That’s a more authentic review if the food wasn’t actually a highlight for your family: We stayed at Shiunso Ryokan as a family with two young children and overall had a pleasant experience. The ryokan is definitely an older property and shows its age in some areas, but it has a traditional atmosphere that many travelers may appreciate. Perfect hotel for our stay in Hakone! The check in was easy and they not only held our bags until check in (5pm), but when we got back they had taken them to our rooms! They provide face masks, eye masks, facial products, and hair products free of charge. The bus stop is right across the street and the train station is a five minute walk. Our only complaint was lack of a breakfast option because everything around is closed in the morning until 11 am. Wasn’t a huge deal as we just hoarded...

Beautiful property. All the details taken care off. Amazing porche with Mount Fuji view. Has a grill, your own wooden bath. The only caveat is that you need taxi for everything from this location, which we did it care.

Very approachable for a more cultural, traditional experience. Was very easy for an American foreigner like myself to have a truly authentic experience. Staff is incredibly hospitable, helpful, patient, and capable. My first ryokan experience that I have Yusakaso to thank. Quality onsens, extraordinarily clean.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Nice amenities too. Location a bit off the main road but ride shares/taxis had no problems finding it.

This was my first trip to Japan, I had to make some last minute itinerary changes and came upon Dormy Hot Springs. The room was a little smaller than I expected - by traveling solo I needed a clean comfortable space, this was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful to an American who spoke no Japanese. The breakfast buffet was exceptional plus to the stay.

The hotel is lovely. The room with the Mt.Fuji view was big with a couch & chair from which we could view the mountain to our heart’s content. The shower/bath was large and comfortable. The beds were firm. The room was clean. The staff was accommodating. Fuji-Q amusement park is next door, but there was no noticeable noise in the hotel. 7-11 is on property.
