Sofitel London Gatwick
8/10 Good
"Very comfortable and convenient hotel to stay as a 3 minute walk to departures at North Terminal.
Stayed here previously and quiet with very nice restaurant for dinner.
Just a couple of minor issues: had to move rooms ( this was dealt with promptly) from an inside room 711 due to a loud buzzing noise to an outside room 642. The outside facing room was comfortable but there was a bit of external noise from traffic and the train shuttle to SouthTerminal which surprised me as you can't hear planes at all.
Also one of the coffee mugs was chipped and should have been removed."
"Great airport hotel, clean comfortable and free shuttle bus. Good air con. Parking was £12.50 for 12 hours overnight. Gym was small but a good range of equipment with clean towels. Breakfast was standard English breakfast fare and a little disappointing if I was being a bit critical but otherwise fine. Would happily stay again!"
"Airport hotels are usually so chaotic but this hotel felt so calm! This really made a difference to the start of our holiday. We didn’t eat at the hotel but the bar was lovely and we enjoyed a few drinks there. Staff were friendly. Room was comfortable. We’d definitely stay here next time we travel from Gatwick."
"Firstly overpriced. Basic rooms Amhet price is for 3/4 star. Room no water to drink and staff were so u helpful. Everything was rushed like we were Sadinesehich of curse we understand we would only be booking to catch flight early hrs but surely good customer care is needed. Holiday Hiltons the way to go"
"Really convenient for flights, being within the terminal and access to choice of restaurants etc. we booked a vip room which was a decent size, and had a fab view over the runway to watch the planes. No comfortable seating, though. Everything was clean, smart and efficient if somewhat soulless, as to be expected. Would recommend if overnight for flights is required. "
"Breakfast wasn’t the best tbh
Room decor lovely but floor a bit tired and no shelf by sink or shower to put anything on
Staff were great apart from cleaners very noisy and banging and bashing and hovering before 0800! Bar guy was on his phone and took a few minutes to come and serve me ! Other than what I’ve mentioned I would recommend as overall was good "
"Great location; friendly staff. Unfortunately there was a spillage by a little boy on a table nearby and the guy who cleaned it up was really great about it - such a nice, kind guy (sounded like a real salt of the earth Londoner)...a credit to the hotel and an example to all."
"Everyone was really helpful. A little tired in public areas would be only issue. We had a problem regulating the temperature in the shower, but they allowed us to use another unoccupied room to have our showers. Breakfast was great quality and taste."
