Hotel Mozart
10/10 Excellent
"On arrival we were greeted by Benjamin - the owner/boss, the self-styled Direction Generale - who is full of witty repartee and warmth and good humour, and as we were to find out, spoken in many languages too.
Hotel Mozart is like Marmite. It isn't for everybody. We loved it and so did our friends who had come over from Cologne to see us. They know where they will be staying next time they are in Brussels.
The real attraction, aside from very friendly and helpful staff, is that Hotel Mozart is only steps from The Grand Place. What a bonus! I just didn't appreciate how close until we arrived!
Hotel Mozart is styled throughout very much on a Moroccan theme which is buzzing with chintz, artwork, frou frou drapes etc etc and has to be seen to be believed! Every wall, floor and ceiling is covered in tiles of different colours and designs and that's just a fraction of the charm!
The continental breakfast every morning was delicious. We loved the croissants and jam and seeded bread with cheese. Tea and coffee aplenty too.
We had time on our last morning to sightsee some more of Brussels and a last minute trip to buy yet more Belgian chocolate. Hotel Mozart were more than happy to keep our luggage for us until we were ready.
When it was time for us to get our train Ben went to get a taxi for us. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for Ben. Wonderful! Thank you. We will be back and will tell all our family and friends that Hotel Mozart is a must stay when visiting Brussels."
"The room was beautiful and the bath was exceptional. Fantastic service from all the staff and would have loved to have stayed longer. Definitely a good choice for a romantic weekend even if the immediate area is not the prettiest."
"Staff was very helpful and nice. Property is clean. Space was tight for 4 persons but it did the job. Liked the room division although we were four in one room there was privacy nonetheless in the shower and the toilet areas. The mattress and pillows were very confortable and clean, but the top bed of the banker beds had a broken fence which made caused an injury when the person was coming down and it was not easy in general to go up and down so be aware if you're planning to choose that type of bed. Also you could easily get a head hit by the top bed corner if you don't pay extra attention to it. Also expect a relatively long wait time to get the elevator as there is only one serving the building. Price was reasonable and location is at the heart of where you would need to be to visit the city. A downside is the rocky road leading to the place on foot; since the path isn’t paved, it’s better to use a car or public transport to get as close as possible and make it easier with your carry-on."
"Close to dining, and shops. Easily walkable. Very nice buffet breakfast for 14 Euro per person. Modern facility and rooms. Room and bathroom were very nice and clean. Comfortable bed. I would recommend this hotel. "
