"My only complaint is the road to get to the container villa is so obviously made for a one way but the kurokawa onsen village decided that traffic can struggle to figure out who has the right of way and reverse in the middle of the road… very dangerous but any who.. The actual container villa was such a vibe from the moment I pulled into the parking lot. So convenient that they had signs pointing to where I needed to go to check in and instructions in both the email and the tablet used to check...

"A very traditional Japanese onsen inn. The staff are very professional to introduce all the facilities in the hotel and to prepare dinner and breakfast for us. The staff are very polite and nice. Although the hotel is a little bit far away from the JR station with slopes going up and down, the experience here was great! "

"Very clean and well-maintained, the villa is spacious and faces east so you get a sunrise view from the living area. Make sure you reach before sundown because the road in is winding and treacherous. Best to familiarise yourself on your first drive at peast. "

"Room was huge as with Ryokan style accommodation and generally clean, What great is the reservation system for onsen so you can have a private slot for yourself/family instead of the usually gender sharing arrangement. It is about 10-15 minutes walk to Yunotsubo Kaido and 5 minutes to the train station and Aeon supermart. Unlike some osen town eg. Hakone, there is plenty of food option at night."
