Learn more about Clarkesville
Tucked into the foothills of Appalachia, this small town punches above its weight with Washington Street's collection of antique shops and local art galleries. The Chattahoochee River flows nearby, offering peaceful spots to cast a line or simply watch the water roll by. Tallulah Gorge State Park awaits with its dramatic canyon views and heart-racing suspension bridge that sways just enough to quicken your pulse. Artisan traditions thrive at Mark of the Potter and Hickory Flat Pottery, where craftspeople continue mountain traditions. For a perfect day trip, follow Panther Creek Trailhead to discover why locals consider this waterfall hike a must-do experience. Lake Burton provides a refreshing escape during summer months, when the mountain air feels like nature's air conditioning.

Unicoi State Park & Lodge
"We only had one night here but it was in a pretty location with hiking trails nearby"
Baymont by Wyndham Helen
"The gym was closed. The pool was not available. The property was clean. The staff was helpful. Definitely don’t feel like I got what I paid for but the bed was comfortable and we had a lot of fun at Oktoberfest."
Riverbend Motel & Cabins
"Location, location, location! right on the river, close to downtown but far enough away, with free parking. Bed was uber comfortable, and the room was dated but clean. They even have a really nice smoking area for us old cigar smokers. Some things were not so great though. For a diabetic, breakfast was a non-starter. We stayed 5 nights and never saw the room cleaned, hauling our own trash, and asking for toilet paper and coffee (only give you enough coffee for one morning). There's no elevator, and we got a top floor room. I got shin splints from all the stairs. They explain this in the summary, but I missed it - you should not. In summary, this is a dated property with minimal amenities and a great location, and I would definitely stay again, learning from my mistakes this trip. Compared to the other hotels in the area, this one is the nicest, quietest, and is reasonably priced."

"Clean room great parking"
Days Inn by Wyndham Helen
"Room were very clean and staff were pleasant and helpful."
Nacoochee Valley Lodge
"Great stay. I will return"
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Helen
"Nicely renovated, clean property. Very polite staff. Standard hot and cold breakfast choices. Room was spacious. You need to download an app to use the laundry, that was frustrating but overall, a nice property."
