"I had a wonderful stay. Hotel rooms seems newly renovated , larger than usual Japanese hotel rooms. Very comfortable mattress, they even supply buckwheat pillow at your request. Breakfast is very tasty and has multiple choices, including traditional, European and Japanese options. Stuff is very helpful, they even helped me to arrange the transfer of my luggage to Kyoto. Centrally located and walkable distance to many tourist destinations. Metro station is next door. "

"This ryokan was beautiful and very clean, and the staff were always friendly and accommodating. You can also reserve the private onsen for about 1000 yen for an hour. The bus stop was a short walk away so it wasn't too bad travelling to different parts of the city. Loved this place! "

"We loved this hotel, and had a great 4 day stay in Kyoto. Very upscale and peaceful, in a quiet, non-touristy neighbourhood, with lots of convenient travel options. And we ended up in nearby underground jazz bar Zac Baran twice, as well as a tiny local restaurant about 15 minutes walk west, same side of street as hotel, called kawahigashi (it also says 'food and beverage' in English outside). We were the only people on a weeknight, with a single chef/server doing everything, and the food was...

"Clean rooms, bigger space compared to other japan hotels. Quite area, close to the old kyoto neighborhoud. Staff were very nice and helpful. Landry machine was quite confusing. And the hotel still didn't have luggage transfer system at the time, so if thats an issue, check with them before.But overall had a great stay. "

"This was the best hotel I have stayed in Japan, and it was located in a quiet and peaceful area. Despite this it was walking distance to gion and major tourist attractions in Kyoto making night strolls very convenient. The room was super super spacious unlike most hotels and it was a very comfortable stay. It was clean and I particularly enjoyed the tatami style room, which was very relaxing at the end of the day. We also used their spa service, which was much needed given the amount of walking...
