Lovely market town with plenty of parking. We stayed in the 'off season' but I would not stay there high season as it will be packed and parking a nightmare. Centrally located for all Peak District sights and hiking trails.

Went to see Christmas at Chatsworth, which we enjoyed but Bakewell is a lovely town to walk round, lots of independent shops and very welcoming staff. Bakewell is very worth a visit.

The only set back is parking, but in an old fashioned market town, you have to expect it as the streets werent originally made for cars.

"Beautiful old building next to a golf course. Somewhat isolated but it’s a lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. Didn’t dine there but the breakfast offering was excellent with good choices. "
