We have been going to Isla for many years and love the island and the local people. However, it has almost outgrown itself with so much development causing crowds everywhere, including the beautiful Playa Norte that it's known for.

The island is magical. It's so very rich in Mayan and Mexican history and this is the perfect place to chase sunsets, moonrises and sunrises. The locals are kind and friendly and it's my favourite place in Mexico.

Beautiful island that is easy to get around with a golf cart or taxi service. Busy tourist section or secluded pristine spots in the middle and south end of the island.

This is a lovely island with a lovely mix of quiet areas and the downtown area with a vibrant nightlife.
"The beach is just accross the hotel. Staff cleans our room daily, very friendly staff. Building is outdated and door chain lock is broken. But overall We had a great stay."
"Hotel Ixchel is a beach front hotel that has access to the most beautiful beach in the island. The restaurant has good food and drinks. The staff is friendly and very flexible. The only disadvantage is the noise. There’s loud music always playing from different restaurants around adjacent to the hotel. "
