Beautiful property, food was delicious, but need to understand preferences of foreign travelers better. Check-in was quite slow and Onsen should be open longer hours.
Loved this place! Very nice to have an onsen in the building. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was amazing. Not much around in the town, but it was a nice break. Also really enjoyed the Japanese style room. Plenty of space and beautiful view of the ocean!
Excellent value for the money. The owner is very customer service friendly. Great place if you are skiing nearby - the food is fantastic. They will help you if you need anything!
We had an amazing stay at Ryotei Hanayura. The ambiance is just beautiful with Japanese cultural motif. Every piece of decor is exquisite. We had a traditional Japanese room facing the mountain with private onsen. The room is very spacious. The kaiseki breakfast and dinner were delicious. We stayed for 3 nights and our last night’s dinner was Crab kaiseki dinner, with different kinds of crab. Breakfast has Western buffet with the sweetest fresh fruits (apple, pineapple, kiwi and oranges) and...

The attention to detail of the different courses for the meals served was first rate. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area
The baths (onsen) at this hotel were outstanding. There was a huge variety, including waterslides. Breakfast was good, as well. We were able to park our car here and then walk over to the "hells" (jigoku). We would gladly stay here again.
Location: Great, just about 5 minutes walk from the bus stop, and right on the loop (shortcut path #2) of the thermal valley.
Food: Generous, about 8/10.
Rooms and facilities: This is an older hotel. It shows its age, but it adds to its charm of a bygone era - think the 80s. Rooms are large, the hallway to elevator is also large and long. The onsen could use some TLC, but I have no issue with it. Carpet, elevator, decoration, everything is old, but clean.
Staff: The manager, male...
