"I stayed at Hotel Cortecito Inn Bavaro in Punta Cana from March 28 to April 4, and I was disappointed. The front desk was the biggest problem. One staff member, a black lady, was rude—no greeting, no smile—and insisted check-in was 2 pm even though my booking said 1 pm. The hotel also asks for your passport or ID at check-in. I refused to leave my Canadian passport and had to provide another ID. Javier at the front desk, however, was very helpful and professional. The room was basic but clean, and the air conditioning worked. Prices felt unfair—tourists seem to pay more than others—and the hotel feels outdated. Breakfast was terrible: no tea and tiny portions (one egg, a bit of jam, one mini bacon, and small bread). I had to buy breakfast elsewhere. The hotel doesn’t have a beach spot, so you need to find your own access to the ocean. The poolside food was good, and the server was polite. Be aware that surrounding shops charge tourists more, and hotel security was often absent. Nearby, I recommend Aroma Restaurant—it’s clean, reasonably priced, and portions are generous. Overall, I would not return."

"Enjoyed my time staying at Art Villa Hotel! All staff were very friendly and were able to address any needs/concerns. Only drawbacks were that there are no towels provided and the AC didn’t work too well. Other than that it was a great stay."

"I stayed at Hotel Checkin El Cortecito for 7 days. Confusion around the name of the hotel to start with. It was originally called Green Coast Hotel...changed its name to Hotel Checkin El Cortecito...not to be confused with Hotel Checkin El Cortecito Beach!. Conversing in English was challenging...but with the help of a translation app everything I needed was taken care of with a smile. Delenny was ever so willing to help with anything i needed...she is a star. Breakfast was included...it was basic ...no frills. Tided me over 'till lunch. Accomodation was adequate...kinda "shabby chic without the chic" Walk to the beach was mentioned as 5,min(I was wary)..more like 10 but not a problem...hey...I'm on holiday! Housekeeping seemed to be on an "ask for it"system. Air conditioner wirked perfectly...television not at all...but i wouldnt have watched it anyway...i was toooo busy at the fabulous beaches all within walking distance...some not so easy to find...but...they are all attached. Fir the price and location...cant be beat!! Gotta catch my flight home"
