"My main issue was extremely little vegetarian options . God help Vegans. Breakfast was ok but veggie sausage was anemic. I asked any tomatoes rather than baked beans . A firm No was the reply. No oh I'll get you some? Lunch and evening meals for vegetarian was either expensive or uninviting . I ate out. Other than that the hotel and surround were nice enough. Parking could be an issue, if an older person had to carry heavy bags from overflow car park . No disabled parking that I could see."

"Really great hotel with so much attention to detail. Record players in the room and a huge selection of records is a really nice touch. The Radio was on when we arrived to our room and the Pantry is generous & a really unique touch. Canadian lady on the Bar was knowledgeable & super friendly (Pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the extensive bar menu was priced). Just really really cool & great location."

"This time we booked into what was called a courtyard room, actually more of a yard room, we could you the revellers until 2am, we heard the barrels being moved at 5am, there was noise from the rooms close by, so compared to all the purge seats this was not one to shout positive things about. Also the Court”yard” room bendy we had to walk outside in the rain to get to the main building which when it so pouring with rain is a tad inconvenient. Finally the milk we were driven once opened was clearly off. Phew what a pong. So unfortunately this review is one or our more critical reviews. The answer is definitely to not book the Court”Yard” rooms"

"We were passing through York after staying in Edinburgh and found the Impossible Motel. We only stayed for 1 night but the room was great with a really comfy bed and soft bedding. Great location and close to the shambles Q park for ease of parking which was really secure and easy to find. Staff welcoming, warm and friendly and a great ambience. We look forward to staying again when we're in York."

"My room was in an annexe with no window, there was a skylight in the corner but the only way to open it and open and close the blind was to stand on a rickety chair. In the bathroom the grabrail by the bath was hanging off the wall so I would be very worried about grabbing it while getting in or out of the bath. Overall the furniture was not the best quality with wonky drawers not closing. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. Overall it was fine but u would probably choose a different hotel in York for my next work stay"

"We had a lovely weekend stay at this hotel, which is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre and close to York’s many attractions. Our air conditioned room was very clean, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, dressing table, hairdryer, iron, tv and plenty of power sockets. The en-suite had a spacious walk-in shower and toiletries were included. We used the hotel restaurant in the evenings and our meals were both well presented and delicious. The hotel bar had a good variety of beers, wine and spirits and there was also an outside seating area in the garden which included all-weather glass pods. The hotel staff were all very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable and made our time in the hotel such a fantastic and valued experience."
