From arrival everything was excellent. The manicured gardens, the personal reception by the General Manager, the common areas, our room ... Then came dinner ... and breakfast ... and tea ... everything superb. We are well travelled. We have been in several countries of South America, Central and North America, Europe, Asia and Africa, and in very good hotels. Buckland Manor is among the very best.

Is there a 6-star I can give it? Spectacular hotel- the gardens, rooms, spa, location, food, staff, were all exceptional. It is so rich in history. Highly recommend!

Luxurious room! We splurged for the nicer room and wow! Wonderful staff, good beer selection. We needed to leave early the next morning so the chef packed us a picnic breakfast with lots of fruit, a blt sandwich, crackers and jams and cookies. Ate it on a hill overlooking a field of sheep and the town below. So memorable!

Our checkin was good! Room was lovely and spacious. Bathroom was good. Slept well on the nice big bed. Breakfast was very good and Mila our server was friendly, kind and welcoming!! Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast.

Beautiful home base for sightseeing. Loved coming “home” each evening to friendly staff and great meal. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Everything highly met my expectations.

We stayed one week in the Cottswald, and this was by far the nicest place we stayed. It was truly a resort experience. The grounds were gorgeous, and there were many indoor and outdoor seating areas including 3 posh lounges with different vibes. Reading, games and music/relaxing. Upscale Aromatherapy diffusers by each bedside! Dinner was best meal of our lives, and a lovely breakfast was included. The smart tv worked perfectly, and the staff was incredibly helpful. Great location, beautiful property and garden. Our room was very small but we made it work. Next time we'd opt for larger room. The only disappointing thing was the breakfast, We stayed here on the recommendation of my sister who stayed here in Nov. They raved about the fabulous breakfast, apparently the menu changed since and it was disappointing in being buffet style and the exact same for all 5 days we stayed.sausage, beans scrambled eggs, bacon would have been nice or omelets or...

The Abbey is a darling place to stay. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, and the most charming staff. Lovely breakfast and absolutely perfect location, close to everything . . . walkable to high street, tons of restaurants, the theatre, and the bus depot. I will definitely stay here again.

The staff was so friendly. We had dinner there and breakfast. The food was very good. The room could use new carpets, but otherwise the it was comfortable.
