The museums, parks, and other monuments to the Civil Rights struggles were so meaningful. Birmingham has preserved them well. The citizens and docents are remarkably friendly and knowledgeable.

We walked to BJCC. 30 min walk. Felt very safe. Also very close to a local coffee shop at Railroad Park. Great walkable dining options as well.

There is excellent dining and shopping in Birmingham. It is best during the day time. Nights in Birmingham isn't comfortabe. We saw dumpster divers, gang bangers. Mybhusband was approached by a man with a gun on his hip and he was stoned.

I enjoyed all that I was able to see (Vulcan, Sloss Furnace, Black Historical Museum, Uptown district and Birmingham Barons baseball game) I realize that there is sooo much more that impels us to come back for more.

Birmingham has many places of historic interest, but as is the case with so many American cities, many historic structures have been torn down to make way for sprawl.

"This hotel was phenomenal. The staff at the front desk, specifically Natalie, was more than accommodating for our large group. They were able to get us checked in (early) and gave us some great recommendations for local bars/restaurants. The hotel was beautiful and a great location to Uptown and concert venues. Our room was clean with very cold A/C. Bedding and pillows were very comfortable!! We will definitely be back for a future stay. "
