the downtown district is quaint, full of antique shops, boutiques and dining, most was open on the sunday we were there.

Allen had very nice public parks and easy access to other areas in Dallas. The hotel is in an industrial area, but area felt relatively safe.

Allen is a big city or a big city feel. I hate big cities. You couldn't tell when you were out of Dallas or in another city if there wasn't signs telling you. But we walked to shop at the outlet and that was the plus.
