Perth city is good, but Greater Perth is better -70 kms along coast & 40 kms wide. Trains are good but you need a car to reach the many excellent suburban centres and beaches. Fremantle and South Fremantle should not be missed & great places to stay.

Kings park is beautiful and a must visit when in Perth. Anywhere along the swan river was lovely. Perth appeared to be a nice clean city with lots of green spaces and little rubbish or graffiti. Rottnest island was a lovely day trip from Perth.

It's an incredibly isolated city, but has many things to see & do in & around the city. Beautiful beaches, wineries, breweries, super shopping malls, lots of food outlets for all needs.

We were impressed by the amount of riverfront greenspace overall. The East Perth area around Victoria Park was quiet and pretty. The free CAT bus service is an amazing service.
