Boulder Bay
Boulder Bay gives you front-row seats to Big Bear Lake's serene mountain magic without the tourist buzz. Launch your kayak right from your cabin's private dock, or follow forest trails that start at your doorstep. When winter arrives, you're just minutes from snowshoeing adventures and the main ski resorts. The area offers charming vacation rentals with cozy fireplaces and lake views instead of hotels. Most visitors bring groceries from town since local dining options are limited. A car is essential for exploring, as this quiet residential pocket sits away from the commercial hub of Big Bear Village.

Fox Farm
Fox Farm offers a tranquil escape from Big Bear Lake's tourist buzz, nestled among fragrant pines and mountain vistas. This quiet residential haven features charming cabin-style homes perfect for travelers craving authentic mountain living. Take a peaceful walk through uncrowded streets before venturing to nearby Snow Summit or exploring the Alpine Pedal Path Trail. Vacation rental cabins dominate the accommodation scene, many boasting cozy fireplaces and rustic-modern charm. While you'll need a car to access dining options in Big Bear Village, the peaceful seclusion and starry nights make the short drive worthwhile.

Moonridge
Moonridge delivers all the magic of mountain living with ski slopes right in your backyard. Bear Mountain Ski Resort anchors this alpine retreat, where pine-scented trails and wildlife viewing opportunities await year-round. The Big Bear Alpine Zoo offers up-close encounters with rescued mountain animals against a backdrop of towering ponderosa pines and spectacular lake views. Cozy cabin eateries and lodge restaurants serve hearty comfort food perfect after a day outdoors. Mountain cabins and resort lodges dominate the accommodation scene, most featuring fireplaces and hot tubs. A personal vehicle is essential for exploring this spread-out community, as the mountainous terrain limits walkability beyond resort areas.

Big Bear Central
Big Bear Central combines refreshing mountain air with year-round outdoor thrills centered around its shimmering alpine lake. The Village area buzzes with outdoor gear shops and cozy spots while the lake itself attracts boaters, kayakers, and fishing enthusiasts. Pine-scented trails wind through forests with snow-capped peaks creating perfect backdrops for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. Mountain comfort food dominates the dining scene with hearty fare at cafes and lakeside restaurants. Accommodation options range from rustic cabins with fireplaces to lakefront resorts. While the village core is walkable, most visitors rely on personal vehicles to explore this scenic mountain playground.

The Village
The Village brings Big Bear Lake's mountain magic to life with shops tucked into rustic log cabins and restaurants spilling onto wooden lakeside decks. Pine-scented air follows you from artisan galleries to cobblestone paths where visitors shop for local crafts and mountain photography. Nearby trails lead adventurers into the surrounding wilderness while seasonal activities shift from summer boating to winter skiing. Dining ranges from casual lakefront eateries to upscale lodges serving hearty mountain comfort food. Cozy cabins and rustic lodges offer pine furnishings and fireplaces, with many properties including breakfast and recreation equipment. The compact village center is easily walkable, though a car is recommended for exploring beyond the charming 4-5 block core.

Escape to an alpine playground where snow-capped mountains meet a shimmering lake. Carve fresh powder at Snow Summit or Bear Mountain in winter, then trade skis for kayaks when summer arrives. The Village buzzes with après-ski energy and small-town charm year-round. Hike pine-scented trails through San Bernardino National Forest, keeping eyes peeled for bald eagles and black bears. Pine Knot Marina offers boat rentals for lazy lake days, while Meadow Park provides perfect picnic spots. Locals recommend visiting midweek to avoid the weekend surge when this mountain retreat transforms from sleepy town to bustling resort. Don't miss sunset from the lake's north shore, where mountains reflect in waters that seem impossibly blue for Southern California.

Hotel Marina Riviera
"Staff was very courteous and help full ,room kind of small, bathroom tiny, good location, La Nona Restaurant excellent service and food."
The Burgundy
"I liked everything about the place can’t complain about anything."
Lagonita Lodge
"It’s pretty old school gives 90s vibe , a little run down , nothing fancy , they still have dish rv no smart tv, our room had no ac, they let u rent out dvds . Honestly I didn’t like it when I first got there then I realized it be good to disconnect. Kids and hubby loved the fishing , they have one jet ski , we rented for an hour . Close to everything. It was nice . I would actually go back to just disconnect from our phones . At the end of the trip I appreciate the 90s vibe"
Big Bear Frontier
"We originally booked a cabin, but a couple of weeks before our trip, we received an Expedia message saying there were no cabins available for our dates, even though we had already paid the deposit. They did have a 2-queen motel room reserved for us instead, and honestly, it worked out for the better. The room had air conditioning, which was definitely needed during a hot July weekend in Big Bear! The room was clean, the Wi-Fi worked great, and I really liked that the TV allowed us to switch inputs. We were able to hook up our Fire Stick and use our streaming services, including watching WWE SummerSlam. Our room was right next to the lake, so we had amazing views and it was so relaxing with the BBQ and benches at the picnic area. The location was also close enough to the Village that we walked over a few times for food—Village Pizza, BBQ at The Cookshak, and of course morning coffee at Tea & Coffee Exchange. The only issue we had was with parking. It seemed like the parking and picnic area could be better monitored, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. There was a large gathering at the picnic area, and by the time we returned, there was only one parking spot left. I'm not sure if everyone there was staying at the property, but it would be nice if parking was better enforced to make sure registered guests have a place to park. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend, especially if you're visiting during the summer!"

"I"
Motel 6 Big Bear Lake, CA
"To be fair this is an older building so don’t expect to much rooms are small. I’m happy to share that things were very clean inside and I wasn’t worried while I slept. So in this case I would say you get what you pay for. If you just need a quick layover for a night or two then it definitely works for that but nothing extra to right home about."
Snow Lake Lodge
"This was such a great stay for me. The staff was incredibly friendly, the room was clean and full of amenities. The kitchenette was great. The onsite laundry was very helpful to have. Thanks for a great stay!"
Bluegreen Vacations Big Bear Village, an Ascend Collection Resort

Holiday Inn Resort The Lodge At Big Bear Lake by IHG
"Not the most up to date facility but staff was awesome and super helpful rooms had a rustic sky lodge feel that took me back would definitely stay again"
