"We stayed at Hotel Gütsch for 3 nights. The check-in staff were very friendly and helpful. We were happy with our room, it was clean but the bathroom was a bit on the small side. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and were somewhat disappointed. The dinner portions were very small for example our rigatoni with mini meatballs totalled 5 pieces of pasta and 4 mini (the size of your baby fingernail) hard, dried out meatballs. It was a portion size for an appetizer. Then someone else in our party ordered linguini with clams. He was served spaghetti with pesto sauce(?). We questioned our waiter and he assured us the clams were in the sauce….totally wrong as when were leaving we saw another table with a dish of linguine with clams and it definitely wasn’t green. So not a good experience whatsoever. Using the funicular was handy to get down the hill to town."

"Our stay at Hotel Astoria was a pleasant experience. The rooms were quiet except when the staff was cleaning the rooms above ours's. The breakfast was good with a variety of fruits, cereals, breads, as well as the standard heated trays of eggs, bacon, etc. About the only complaint is with the bathroom. It is not senior friendly with an extremely slippery tub surface and nothing to support oneself. Maybe a child could use the tub but it was difficult for an adult sized person to get in or out. The lighting could also be improved."
