"We began our stay in Ischia recuperating from the trip at Samiramis. We moved Albergo Macri as a home base for day trips around Ischia and to Naples, Pozzuoli and the Amalfi Coast. We were very conveniently located to take ferries and buses for those day trips. There is an excellent restaurant just down the block, and many more around the port and further into Ischia Porto. The owners were very hospitable. Excellent value. "

"Staff and grounds are beautiful views of the Gulf of Naples are amazing. You're high in the mountains and make sure you get a cab to go exploring the town of Ischia as it is beautiful. The restaurant at the hotel is great and they have a wonderful spa including thermal pools and you can request massage the massage person is fabulous and the prices are great highly recommend this hotel"

"All the family were very hospitable. They even carried our heavy suitcases up 2 flights of stairs. Breakfast was excellent. They introduced us to the Ischian cornetto- an extra special pastry that combines brioche and a croissant. Bedroom was spacious but on a noisy road and bed was rather firm but ok for a few nights. Basic accommodation only 10mins to the port on a bus. "

"Property was located half way between Ischia port and Ischia center making the walk to either very easy. Also the property was one block from bus stop. Two swimming pools on premises - one was thermal. Staff was friendly and helpful and spoke English. The included breakfast had a large selection of items including fresh pastries. "We chose this hotel for the views, thermal pool and the beachside access. The area was quiet and only 10 minute bus ride from the Ischia port or a 35 minute walk if you’re up for it. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really nice- especially with the castle views. The room decor was ‘old world charm’ but was very clean. "This is the perfect lodging for your stay in Ischia. It's a short drive from the Ischia marina, where the ferry drops you off, but the public bus (less than 3€ a ride) is right outside of the hotel to get you back to the Ischia Marina where there are countless bars and restaurants, as well as the main shopping on the island, or to Fario where you unlock another world of the island. So convenient! The hotel staff themselves are so accommodating, as well. The staff during our stay didn't speak...

"After scrambling to find a hotel because I left my filthy Airbnb, I booked the black market hotel and it did not disappoint. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the location is 10 min walk to the port and restaurants and the vibe of the hotel is amazing. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay near Ischia Port. "

"Older hotel situated in carefully tended gardens with spectacular views of the sea. Bathrooms are small but clean. The restaurant is open for breakfast buffet and dinner and the food and staff were great. Lots of local seafood. Excellent wine list with many Ischia wines. Situated out of Ischia Porto town so a car is advisable if you want to explore the island. Front desk arranged a taxi tour of the island with Filippo who speaks some English and he showed us much of the beauty of this special...
