"I think the hotel is either new or newly run as they seem to be finding their feet. Check-in was 3pm to 4pm and when I called to say I might be around 6:30, I was told "it's only hour and a half from Manchester" and "there might not be anyone here after 5pm". It felt a bit abrupt in all honesty but when I arrived around 5:30 (Friday school holiday traffic), they were pleasant enough. Breakfast starts at 10:30 to 11:30 which is very late and checkout is 10am. Weird timings, hence my theory they...

"We had a great overnight stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and very clean, with a fantastic view over the North Bay. It is in a very handy position for both bays and also Peasholm park or the Open Air Theatre. It’s only a short walk to the town centre and station. Handy parking outside and a very easy check in process. We will certainly book again next time we come to Scarborough. We saw a wonderful sunrise from the bedroom window and got some great pics😊"

"The Crescent Hotel is on the Georgian crescent overlooking the park and is a perfect location for going to the Stephen Joseph Theatre. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Our room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Our only small quibble is that there is Open Mic night on Fridays and we were right above the bar, so we could hear the bass playing, but it wasn't too bad as we were on the third floor. "Stopped in Scarborough for 2 days . Good base to explore Yorkshire Moors and Whitby etc. Flamborough Head and Robin Hood Bay very pretty. Goathland is where they filmed Heartbeat. Worth short visit to see Scripps garage etc"

"The property is well maintained and very clean , we found the room spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of items to order. The host James was very professional and happy to advise on the area . Close to the cliff lift to the spa, and we found the area nice for walking around Scarborough. The public transport links are close by , you can easily leave the car parked and enjoy a driving free break. We would fully recommend the waves for a short or longer break"
