Breakfast was decent as it was included, just wish you were able to choose what you’d like versus the set menu provided (for example ask me how I would like my eggs) Location is perfect, 10 minute walk from subway stations, Starbucks, and shopping areas."

"We stayed for 7 days while visiting Kyoto for Fall foliage. The room is very clean and quite with great insulation. The staffs are courteous, patient and helpful with questions. Great walking location to train stations, convenient stores, supermarkets, and restaurants. Would book it again next time and recommend to friends or relatives with no hesitation. "

"The area was very quiet which was nice but did mean it was a bit of a walk to the nearest shop. The check-in process was all automated and quite straightforward but be aware that the emails are sent in Japanese and I had to pop these in a translation app. The building is small but the room was a generous size. The place is slightly dated but very clean. "

"This home was beautiful and in a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood. We wish we spent more time relaxing here. There were some safety concerns with a toddler with the stairs etc, but they could easily be blocked off. "

"It’s a great little hotel in a very quiet part of Kyoto. If you wish to get away from all the crowds and just experience how the locals live, this is a hotel for you. We had a room with a private onsen bath, which was just perfect at the end of all the sightseeing. Special thanks to the staff, who went above and beyond to make us feel very comfortable. There is a nearby bus stop, that can take you to most places in Kyoto within a 30 mins time. 24/7 front desk staff that was so helpful, you can wash for 300 yens and dry your close in the hotel for 100 yens. Best value. I would stay here again."

"It was a great property for a large group that expressed the unique culture of Kyoto. Nice local cuisine options in the area and is a decent area as a hub after a day's activities. The one caveat is that depending on your schedule it may be easier to cab rather than take the local buses nearby. "

Fast responses and overall a great stay :) 9.8/10 a little bit dusty specifically the top of air conditioner but hey, it’s an older place, it was expected and part of the vibe. Recommend if you want to stay in a more traditional place hence the name of the place. "
